This is an odd set as ridgid seems to have taken a step backwards, a couple generations, bringing back the Brushed motors with the terribly mounted led lighting in the handles. For the price it's a deal. The same Brushed set years ago was $99. When ridgid went brushless prices took off. Then people learned the hard way brushless isn't always the best system for consistent use as the motors burn out and can't be repaired by changing the brushes. I wonder if stepping backwards into Brushed motors ridgid is trying to offset those burnt out LSA losses with prior existing tech.

I see a lot of Ryobi talk. It's good for the homeowner. Ryobi has a lot of gimmick tools as well. But it's just not really a tool I'd trust for consistent use regardless of what motors or internal parts cross the assembly line with other brands. Ridgid is along side Ryobi as both are home depot brands. I trust the prior generation of ridgid tools. The latest Gen feels cheap. In the end find a brand you trust so you don't invest in various tools and batteries that don't work off each other.

Dewalt was mentioned, I've had lots of issues with Dewalt chucks on their drills. So much I stopped using Dewalt. Ridgid never a problem with the chuck, I've also noticed battery failures in Dewalt more than any other brand. Just my real world observation working in the entertainment industry where guys run tools 12 hours a day. Ridgid, you either get a good battery, or you don't. I've had a few DOA new in the package batteries from ridgid.

With Ryobi VS ridgid batteries. Ridgid batteries are easier to pocket and carry being flat on top as Ryobi has the old type neck that goes into the handle.

Lastly it's always a pet peeve of mine when people mistakenly refer to the ridgid Lifetime Service Agreement as a lifetime warranty. Read the LSA stipulations and requirements. It's Not a warranty. If you send something in it's on your own dime, and if they don't honor the service agreement it's your dime to have it sent back. It's a marketing gimmick for the most part.

All that said I choose ridgid over all other brands. But as stated the prior Gen of tools. Not sure I'd trust the latest Gen as it just doesn't feel proper and again they stepped backwards not forwards to advance the tech. All based on my experience of course. You're opinion may vary.
So the trick with Ridgid is to go on the home Depot app daily and just browse their tools. Randomly for one day only they will have crazy 30-60 percent off online only. Goes away the next day. Just check while you poop
I have had my two batteries replaced three times and chuck once, over the last 15 years, and it didn't cost me a dime. I dropped the drill off at an authorized repair facility for the Chuck and batteries once and twice they sent me batteries after claiming on their website. I never had to ship my drill or batteries. I have nothing but praise for Ridgid!

You really wanna brushless, unless you are just planning to be casually using it.

Man, this is tempting but I know if I buy it come black friday there's going to be even better deals on tools. I already have a Ryobi drill and impact driver. Also have a Hart impact driver but I'm a sucker for great deals on tools.
This set without the drill bits was $120 last Black Friday. It's better quality than a similar level Ryobi. Also, Home Depot has a 90 day return policy if you don't open them, so that will get you to BF and Xmas.

If it's coming up as Out of Stock, select a kit with a different Attachment option: w/ twist drill 925 pieces) OR w/ screwdriver set (40 pc)

Huh? Check what while I poop? I don't look until I'm done. Strange thing to say.

Yeah I'm a beginner so I don't know what difference it makes. I need a introductory beginners book because I don't know what I'm doing. Home Depot should offer classes.

This isn't as great a deal as seems. HD runs a Rigid brushless drill/driver/circular saw with 2x 2ah batteries every 3 months or so. I bought a set as gift in July. It was hackable too.

Unless ur married to the Rigid ecosystem, I think ur much better off getting a Hitachi or Greenworks combo when they go on sale. Just a few weeks ago the Greenworks 24v brushless 2drill 2battery combos were $72 but no body was buying them. How did this Rigid brushed combo get 20+ likes?

You can no longer buy Hitachis and the Greenworks power tools are lower quality, have a pretty limited power tool selection, lack the lifetime warranty, and are only available online.

For me, the decision to go Ridgid was easy to make based on the fact that when a battery dies (and they all eventually die) a simple phone call will get a free replacement - no credit card needed.
