I almost pulled the trigger for a sapphire 6800xt for 515 open box but opted not to, also waiting what the next radeon cards will be, I need an amd for eyefinity
In terms of capability, what is the comparable NVidia card to this one? 3070 thereabouts?
This is meant to compete with the 3080. Generally you can use the 2nd digit of an AMD card and compare to the 3rd digit of a Nvidia card. So 6X00 is roughly equal to 30X0. Rough approximation.

Where did you see this deal? I am unable to find open box
With AMD doing gamers no favors with the new cpu & mobo prices you better just expect deals on miner leftovers!
That's what I'm afraid of. Seeing the new cpu prices and how they jumped up.. and with nvidia jumping up. I feel like this year is not going to be good for electronic prices on computer parts.

My advice is HOLD, sit on your hands 'til at least November. In the next few weeks NVidia & Intel will release new GPU's and AMD will follow in a month or so later. I'm holding off on any upgrades 'til next January.

I agree. Don't let your fomo get the best of you. The manufacturer can try to keep the price high, but ultimately the laws of supply and demand will win and the prices will come down. Unless you buy now.
Holding line waiting for Arc cards. Black Friday should clear a lot of stock.
I mean if what you're aiming for is something between 3060 and 3060ti which is the top of the line Arc cards, then sure, at roughly $330 (assuming MSRP exists for Intel) then it's probably a decent enough buy.
But without trying to sound snobby in a 6800xt is way beyond anything Arc can do.

ARC is a terrible choice for almost anyone right now. The drivers are a complete and total disaster according to gamers nexus.

varies game to game. on the one hand the amd cards offer a better value in raw card / memory but depending on what you play you may or may not be happy vs nvidia.. drivers are less polished
