The hassle for a lot of people is more of finding one, hoping it is a good one, ordering it, etc rather than installing it on the SSD.

I always wondered why they didn't make the nvme install itself toolless when they standardized the M.2 connector like memory instead of requiring a screw.

Would this be a good upgrade for. Legion laptop? Wondering about the heat and the power draw vs. a Samsung 980 Pro. It has been hard to find recommendations for laptops, instead of PS5 and Desktops.

Most desktop motherboards with m.2 slots have built-in cooling for them. This is why most of these drives don't come with a heatsink, if it's being installed in a pc or laptop, it usually doesn't need one.

The biggest they go is 8TB. If you want 10TB your going to have to pay $$$$ for a enterprise drive.

on a complete sidenote - does anyone know why silicon power is banned from sd?! I tried posting a few deals and the admin did not know why it is banned but since it is, my post was removed...
I received this moderator response last year when a SP deal I had posted was removed

Quote :
Silicon Power is banned from our site due to repeated breaking of our rules. Not that they have a bad product or anything, we don't determine that. But usually when a merchant gets banned it is due to shilling, artificially voting up their deals and that sort of thing. It is a bummer when it happens to popular brands.
Given that the above is the standard operating procedure here for Team Group deals who is Silicon Power's direct and closest competitor, I suspect it has something to do with commercial negotiations. It is what it is.
