I got Eero pro 6's (not Pro 6e) the last deal after a ton of research. They are basically the same price.

At the end of the day...

1. Speeds are nearly identical for non-6e devices

2. Very very very few devices are currently 6e using the 6 ghz band

3. Almost all devices are 5 ghz and the 6 pro has 2x 5 ghz bands while the 6e pro only has 1x 5 ghz band and 1 x 6 ghz band. What happens is you are trading a two lane highway for two separate one lane highways, but one of those two only allows testlas to drive so your main highway is worse.

4. While the 6 ghz band can be used for backhaul, that kinda defeats the purpose of eeros dynamic backhaul algorithm. Also the 6 ghz band will have less range than the 5 ghz band and would either need to front+back haul, or be plugged via ethernet with wired backhaul.

5. Pro 6 on forums seems to generally be way more stable than 6e.

Your call in the end. Honestly I would recommend only even considering the 6e if you have wired backhaul.
This post is entirely wrong.

The 6ghz band, while yes suffers from 2dB drop compared to 5ghz from atmosphere, the FCC allows 30 dBM EIRP for the 6ghz vs 23 dBm for 5ghz.

So you can use more power for the 6ghz band which is more range.

On the backhaul the 6ghz band allows 320mhz wide channels vs the 160mhz that the 5ghz band maxes out at.

So your argument is dumb, because the 6E version is essentially the equivalent to THREE 5ghz channels.

False

Wider channels do not decrease range. It increases the chance of interference, yes. But range is the same.

Thanks for this. I was wondering about upgrading my Eero Pro 6 setup which I love and this makes is clear. I also was reading about more heat issues with 6E Pros and the 6's were already kind of toasty. Going to wait until 6E is more widespread.

Dude...

Channel interference is a piece of range. a 160 mhz channel moves through a wall worse than an 80mhz channel.

Also, everything generally has interference of some sort.

A wall is not interference, it's attenuation.

Interference is every other WiFi 5ghz in your neighborhood since every ISP bundles 5ghz routers now.

worked for me. If you don't see trade in offer, search for Amazon Trade in and then start a trade in. Once you complete the 25% will automatically apply. I got $35 bucks for my old Orbi plus i used Amazon points so I paid a little over $100. I have been looking for a new mesh as my ATT wifi sucks but didn't like the Eero price, This was a slickdeal.

If you aren't having issues I wouldn't switch, but generally eero is known to be more stable and has better software with their dynamic backhaul.

I'd go pro 6 not pro 6e tho...

Correct, it won't give you very much because these routers were literally firesaling for like $20

This is really a great deal if you do the trade in for the extra 25% off.

I haven't touched my wifi network in years, and was waiting on the new Google Wifi. This week alone, I went from pre-ordering the new Google Wifi, only to later cancel after seeing it has no 2.5Gb port. I then ordered an open box Asus ET8 for what was a great price of $350, only to then see this deal and cancel that order since this is even cheaper and brand new!

Its closely debatable on which is the winner between the Asus ET8 and these Eero pro 6E's when they are at retail price, but when the Eeros are this cheap, the Eero's are the clear winner. You aren't going to find any wireless setup better than this at the price, for a bit over $200.

I only got $35 for my first gen Google Wifi 3 puck system, but that is on top of the 25% off retail. I would have traded them just for the 25% off of retail, so the $35 extra is just a bonus that I wasn't even expecting.

Eero 6E system isn't worth it unless you have multiple 6E devices. It's still a tri-band system, so you lose one 5Ghz band to gain a 6Ghz one - meaning your 5Ghz devices might have worse performance. Better off looking for a 4x4 MU-MIMO quad band system if you REALLY want 6E I'll be keeping my Eero 6 Pro for a while. Not even the new iPhone 14 Pro does 6E. WiFi 7 standard is supposed to be announced next year and it will include 6Ghz,

I still have mine and use it with Merlin LMAO Are these that much better? We are barely just now getting ATT fiber in my area.
