Getting a Google gift card is like getting a gift card to Dollar Tree. You'd have to try really really hard to find something worth buying.

For any current Google Fi users - I got a much better deal on a Pixel 7 Pro going through the Google Store website than going through the Google Fi Store website.

Google Fi offered $100 off price and $72.50 trade-in for my Pixel 4A 5G

Google Store offered $200 store credit (I am interested in a watch, not sure which one yet) and $297.50 trade -in.

Seems odd that the trade-in offer is so much higher through Google Store but I double-checked. I took screenshots in case they change trade-in amount later.

Looks like the google store has the same deal, 200 gift card towards their store. I put in my pixel 3 (with a cracked screen) as a trade-in and it's showing a $244 dollar credit. Seems like a no brainer for me here since I can use that towards the pixel buds pro or the new pixel watch.

I've lost hope with Pixel phones with the Pixel 6 pro. And that is me coming from owning Nexus 6P, pixel XL, Pixel 3XL, Pixel 4a 5G, and the latest Pixel 6 pro.
The Pixel 6 pro's fingerprint scanner works 70% of the time, The reception is a hit and miss on some places. And the phone heats up with certain apps. I'll wait for a review before buying this thing.

I hit up their customer support since I was being offered only 29 bucks as a trade-in for my pixel 3 (as opposed to $244 on the google store) and they said the stores "operate differently" and they can't honor the values from the other store. Kind of a bummer cause I wanted to use the discount towards my bill.

Now though I think I'm going to buy from the google store since the phone is much cheaper, and can get the pixel buds pro essentially for free.

I think iPhones are just more popular so it's easier to sell. More people will buy it than the pixel.
Agreed. But why should I buy google phone over iPhone. Cost of new phone is about the same, depreciation on iPhone is less, almost every pixel has been having so many issues.

This is also not very positive that the phone is discounted during pre-order. It makes me believe that this will also have lots of issues that google will never admit to or fry fixing them.

Don't get me wrong, I personally have been using Android phones since Nexus 6P time and currently on Google 6 Pro. SO not an apple devotee/ blind.

no thanks, gonna rock my pixel 6 for a few more years and save $599+tax
everything you own/use today cost some money, think of it as a lease(when in reality is depreciation). You could upgrade the phone, trade in your P6 and in reality it wouldnt cost anything more than keeping P6.

Eg. (simplifying tax, gc, and other stuff)
p6 at launch $599
p6 trade in $440
=$160 /12 month = $15 / month to use P6

get P7 $599
p7 trade in on P8 =$440 (assumption)
=$160 /12 month = $15 / month to use P7

or

p6 at launch $599
p6 trade in $260 on P8 (assumption, if p6 depreciates $15/mon) <-corrected wrong assumption
=$ 340/24 month = $14.25 / month to use P6 for 2 years <-corrected wrong math

so..you are better of trading up and getting new phone that costs you same as old one

What are the main differences between 7 and 7pro? Are they worth couple hundred dollars more?

Trade in prices are terrible. They can't compete with Samsung at all.

Google once really burned me with an iPhone trade in which was an iPhone 6s instead of (the inferior) iPhone 6. Never again

was your 6 ok? i know the user reviews were terrible and it was supposed to be buggy as all hell. i went from the old motorola google phone (loved it) to the pixel 2 (loved it) but then balked at the 5 and 6 because of reviews. Ended up with a samsung s20, and cant wait to leave samsung and get back to a pixel device as long as it has decent battery life and isnt too buggy.
My 6 is a piece of junk (that's why I want a 7). Apps constantly crash and it reboots itself almost daily. Going to get a 7 pro.

Not sure if doubling down on Pixel is the smartest way to go.. I guess one can wait until reviews are out, and then cancel the pre-orders?

Does anyone know if Google Store will do a Black Friday deal? Wondering If Pixel 7 or 7 Pro go lower on BF?
