Trade in values for Pixel 6 series towards Pixel 7 Series
Pixel 6 128 GB - $440
Pixel 6 Pro 128GB - $480
These values are not great particularly for Pro, compared to what Samsung offers to their previous gen.

Pixel 6 pro should have at least get $600 trade in value.

Anyone have experience with what actually constitutes "good condition" for the trade in value? Are they being misleading in this statement:

"Is your phone in good condition?
Answer yes if it turns on, is free of cracks, and the screen works properly."

Is this literal? If a phone's speakers and microphone don't work, but otherwise works perfectly and has no scratches or cracks etc., will it receive full value trade in? The guidance certainly suggests that to be the case. Can anyone confirm?

Asking for a friend. laugh out loud
Please, can anyone help answer this?

Is there a way to change the trade in phone? I already placed the order and selected trade in my P6. Would rather change it trade in the wife's P5 and use the P6 trade in when I order her phone off bestbuy to maximize credits.

Cancel and re-order with proper trade in.

Sure that's an option as long as it doesn't mess up the store credit because it says one per customer and don't want it to trigger that I've already ordered.

DUMB QUESTION ALERT:

If you're doing a trade-in, are the cashback offers based on the full purchase price of the phone? Or the FINAL price of the phone? I ask because the checkout page says that they will "refund" the amount of the trade-in.

So if the phone is $900 and you get 5% cash back ($45), if Google approves your trade-in for $500 and then refunds $500 for the order, the cash back you would receive would be adjusted just for $400 (thus making the cash back only $20), correct?!

I just placed a pre-order on Google Store for the Pixel 7:

- Pixel 6 trade-in = $440
- Google Store Credit = $100
- Google One 10% Store Credit = $60 (Upgraded for a month using Google Play Store credit)
- Rktn 4% CB = $24

So after taxes and with the credit account for, about $26 in total. In the process I'm also converting my locked in AT&T Pixel for an upgraded unlocked Pixel. And I got that Pixel 6 earlier this year for $79.99 outright as part of an AT&T corporate plan promotion.

Random question - I am still getting bill credits on my current Pixel 6 from Tmobile. I am not planning to leave Tmobile, but I would be sending in the Pixel 6 as trade 1 year early. Phone is unlocked btw. Anyone done that and ran into issues? Obviously I'd just take my sim with me. Thanks.

FYI, you'll need to have it for two months

Yeah, I saw... fortunately I have lots of Google Opinion earned credit to burn. I rarely buy apps so this is a good use of that free money!

You might want to check the carrier trade-ins instead. Google Store scales with the phone for trade-in value, but I checked Verizon and they have a flat $700 credit as long as it's a valid trade-in device. Yes, you'll be stuck in a 36-month "not a contract" but if you're not planning to upgrade every generation, it may be a better value.

The Google Store credit is only useful if you don't want to get stuck with installment plans and if you want stuff that the Google Store offers.

Cashback calculates after the trade in?
Usually its based on original purchase. It's rare they alter after the fact unless its a standard return vs credit based on a trade. Either way worth it for a 2.50 dollar fee.

As of last year they didn't do a diagnostic of anything other than checking if it turns on, screen works, body is in good condition, and the phone has been factory reset with no locks like iCloud, or google account.
