Trade in values for Pixel 6 series towards Pixel 7 Series
Pixel 6 128 GB - $440
Pixel 6 Pro 128GB - $480
These values are not great particularly for Pro, compared to what Samsung offers to their previous gen.

Pixel 6 pro should have at least get $600 trade in value.

Anyone else's P7 fingerprint sensor seem to be infuriatingly inaccurate? With glass screen protector on, I get maybe a 50% work rate. The fingerprints were enrolled with the TGSP on, and I have screen protector mode on in the display settings.
The FP reader is bad. With or without screen protector. I have a Pixel 6, Pixel 6a and Pixel 7. I don't see any improvement in the FP sensor on Pixel 7. It works about as well as Pixel 6a and very slightly better than Pixel 6.

The accuracy of the FP reader on the P7 is less than 50 percent for me. Try to use the face unlock during the day. With the unimpressive screen and the lag in scrolling, haven't been too happy with the Pixel 7.

Could someone please comment on the timeline for the trade in for Google?

My trade in phone is stuck in this status for 10 days:

Moving Through Network
In Transit, Arriving Late

Departed USPS Regional Facility
NASHVILLE TN DISTRIBUTION CENTER ANNEX

Google is refusing to help as they say it is not delivered. USPS tells me that it was delivered a while ago. Thinking of returning the Pixel 7 - as tomorrow is the last day for the return.

The deal doesn't make sense without the trade in.

Same thing happened to me with the 6a. I never got a confirmation delivery but got my trade-in refunded after 4 weeks of waiting. Dummy me, I just did this deal as well because of the 100 instant credit and the 300 trade in credit for the 4a.

Odd that so many people have FP reader issues. I had a Nexus 5x and Pixel 3 and always had issues (as well as iPhone for work) mainly because my hands sometimes get sweaty. Pixel 6 was WAY better for me and worked basically every time even with sweaty fingers. Pixel 7 seemed the same, although I put on a case with a screen protector and it got worse (even with the increased sensitivity setting). Think I'm going to remove the screen protector as it isn't really needed with the Gorilla Glass and the fact that it is a holster case so is generally always protected.

I continue to have fp reader issues. Judging from the very active Reddit threads with multiple people voicing frustrations, it's not uncommon to say that the fp reader is not good. I say that as a Nexus and pixel loyalist since Galaxy Nexus. The rear fp reader of days past was far superior, whether it be speed or accuracy of the read

About trade in, is there a time limit within which we need to send the trade in device via USPS and where can I see this?

Also, is the trade in amount a refund to the original payment method or a store credit? Thanks.

30 days

Note: Your trade-in estimate is valid for 30 days from the day your new phone is delivered.

Even though you can send your trade-in device at any time, if it arrives more than 30 days after your new device was delivered it'll be assessed at current market value instead of your quoted estimate. Current market value is determined by the trade-in terms.

So now that some have had the phone for up to two weeks, would you buy it again? I am holding out for a BF deal.

Trade-ins show delivered October 19th on USPS. Google hasn't provided any notifications or updates on them since.

Bracing for a looooong refund process.

Yep, great phones (I have the P7 and P7P) if you can get them like $200-300 below MSRP.

I have had mine for a week or two now. I came from the Pixel 5 (and 3, 4 before that) and it has taken a little getting used to for the fingerprint reader on the screen. Like many others, I am having issues with the fingerprint reader not recognizing my fingerprint. I am hoping the Nov update addresses the issues (similar to the P6 ). The camera is fast, and the phone seems to handle everything I throw at it. I did disable face unlock and 5g since they both seemed to be sucking the battery , and I did not really need the feature. I am not even sure the face unlock worked, as I set it up, and then stared intently at my phone for a few minutes lol.
One trick someone mentioned on Reddit was to breathe onto the screen to get some moisture, and then they had better luck with the finger print reader, YMMV on that. But definitely wait until Nov update before threatening the class action suit lol!
In regards to the trade in, I sent mine in on Oct 12th, and just today received (almost back to back ) confirmation they received it AND approved it. Try to ignore the Reddit horror stories because A.) They might just be making it up and B.) No one ever reports the positive experiences, just negative, so there is definitely some causation vs correlation bias there.

I am happy to answer any other questions others may have! at the price point i paid for this phone (~$17 OOP depending on how you value credits etc...) I am very happy with the upgrade. I would stick with my P5, however, if the price was anything higher than like 300 or so, as I have not noticed a huge bump in speed and performance over the P5. However, the additional years of security updates are a big bonus to me!

Any success stories on trade-ins yet? I just sent off my pixel 3 a couple days ago, but there is a reddit thread already about a horror story. They basically claimed his perfext pixel 3 had a swollen battery and the value is now $0. He even had a video of the boxing and they wouldn't accept it. Fingers crossed!
Quote from imjimmy :
Google has been known to do that. Randomly give ZERO values for Trade in and say they cannot return phone due to swollen battery. There is NOTHING that can be done.
Should you do a chargeback, your Google account is GONE forever. This is the risk with these trade ins. Google dupes you unlike Samsung, Apple and other big corps.

Did anyone's trade in Kit get delivered to Google WITHOUT a destination scan?
This has been my final tracking for the past 5 days.

Email yesterday for received and refund today. I am really surprised it only took a day.

Did USPS show it delivered for a few days before google acknowledged they had received it?

It may be that Hyla is getting the phone, queueing it, inspecting it and then informing google that the entire process has been completed at once, instead of informing them as the process is taking place.

Still shows arriving late even when I track it now. They did the same thing with the 6a I bought. Took over a month for it to show delivered..lol. All that matters is that I got my refund very promptly this time.

Oh that gives me hope. Mine is also showing arriving late when it should have been delivered yesterday. Fingers crossed.
