- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

Do you have to do setup and data transfer in store when you pickup the new phone? This can take up to an hour...or can you take the new phone home and drop off the old phone at a later day?
Wondering this as well. I can't hand over stuff immediately as I have authenticators and others to transfer. Does anyone know?
Or... Should I just pull the trigger on the p7, trade in my iP11 ($490 trade-in value) + 100 GC? Total is $153 with taxes. Minus the GC = $53.

With the trade in the 7 pro came out to $653 and the $200 gift card will come in handy when I upgrade my tv this holiday season.
For the S22, the stylus is great if you use it, sure. It's hefty, but alright (this coming from a person who never thought they'd get a phone that big). Screen is great, but not a deal breaker difference for me. But the camera - oof. People go on and on about it and it's got the 100x zoom, but I've had 3 Pixel phones before this and the camera on the S22 (and the same for the Flip 3 and Flip 4, which I also had for a bit) just leaves a lot to be desired. It may be an amazing camera if you want to go through the settings and tweak them for whatever scene or situation you're in but for the average person who wants to just pull out the phone, start the camera, and snap a photo of anything that is not completely still and stationary, it is severely lacking.
All that is to say the only reason I'd hesitate to trade in for one of these Pixels is that the S22 Ultra will likely fetch an insane trade in value for the next Samsung models. That doesn't mean much if you care about the camera though, because it's unlikely to get better than a Pixel in the "simply point and shoot" department. I've already placed a pre-order her for the Pixel 7 Pro (TIV value for the Ultra is too high to purchase the regular P7) with the trade in locked in and was going to mull it over but I'm leaning heavily towards the Pixel right now.
Also keep in mind that P6 series was in open beta for 6 months, the FP sensor, signal strength and battery life were atrocious for the first couple of months (got it in Nov'21), it was actually a downgrade for those early days from my S20+ and I would have returned it had I not traded the S20 in already.
