- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

I did pay another $51 in tax but the majority of that gets refunded when the trade in goes through. I also get 5% from cashback for checking out with PayPal using chase freedom card.
IMO, Pixel 7 Pro is much better deal here. Regular Pixel 7 lowers battery capacity, make screen smaller while doesn't reduce bezel that much and that 20:9 aspect ratio is painful tall for a phone. Also the 90Hz display doesn't have variable refresh rate so your battery will suffer.
Can you elaborate please? how can you get the tax back? the trade-in value is an isntant discount so there is nothing that would be refunded again in future

If you don't care about display quality then the Pixel will be just fine. same camera, same capability.
Recap: so for $200 extra, you get
