- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

I can see iphone see 3rd gen is $230, can I trade in that (locked to t mobile)

I contacted Best Buy support, they told me to go in store to set up the pre-order with trade for the 512GB.
In store, they offered me $500 flat for the Pixel 6 Pro and said "we don't care about storage capacity on trades". They were looking at a document/table around the Pixel 7 Pro it looked like.
I may have been dealing with uninformed store workers, but, heads up for anyone who wants to go this route.
On the other hand, Google Store is giving $600 trade for the 512GB Pixel 6 Pro plus $200 Google Store credit.
Seems the camera is the same, battery is smaller, one more year worth of updates, hopefully less bugs than Pixel 6.
