Okay, I figured out how to find out which trade-in box corresponds to which order.

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".

You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

Best Buy trade-in process has not changed since iPhone 13 trade-in deal last summer, so all these following tips still apply to this Pixel trade-in. This is for in-store trade-in, I have not done mail in trades with Best Buy.

  • I obtained the $200 bonus gift card. If assuming GC = cash, net cost of the Pixel 7 Pro was $259.56, or $419 + tax + $200GC. Same trade-in for the Pixel 7 would have been $119 + tax + $100GC.
  • Once all was finalized, I wiped the data for my phone in front of the BB Employee. (I requested to do this last to ensure all went well, but you can wipe it ahead of time I would imagine)

Thank you all for making this work! Hope this info helps others--I made the mistake of obtaining $950 of GCs thinking I would need them all, now I have lots more than I need, but I'm sure I will find use for them (Pixel Watch, LG OLED....so many options!)

I am not comfortable with what you suggested. especially with all my personal and private info (fingerprint, facial info, photos, banking, google wallet/credit card) on my phone.

If you go to pre-order a Pixel 7 online, go to trade-in your phone. It will be the value you see on this thread. If you go to trade it in for any other reason (just on BB's regular trade-in site for example) it will be $250 less. It's just a promo credit and that's how they do it in-store. Online it's just folded into the full trade-in price. The nice benefit of the way they do it in-store is it knocks $250 off the price entirely, so the taxes are less.

Are they shipping you the phones or you have to go back to Best Buy to pick them up?

How long does the Rktn cashback take to register? I used the extension when placing the order, and received a confirmation notification via the extension. But there's no cash showing on my account yet.
