Trade-in value notes:
- In states CA (please add more), tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo).
- In states NJ, NY, tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal).
- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

getting $245 for my pixel 3 is insane! i think instead of getting the pixel 7 pro i might just get the regular pixel 7 instead hahaa.
edit: can google store credit be used in their stores
?
Gotcha thanks. If I wasn't so busy lately I probably wouldve tried to get in on that too.
Why does the best buy trade-in selector not even have the 9 Pro, let alone the 10 Pro? Max offer I'm getting is $100 on of the near current phones.
Advice?
I tested out the transfer time from my current device (Pixel 4) to a newly factory reset (Pixel 6) using the OEM USB-C to USB-C cable.
My current device is Pixel 4 64 GB with 46 GB/64 GB used total (72%)
- Apps 27 GB
- System 15 GB
- Images 3.5 GB (yes, I don't take many pictures)
- Videos 487 MB
- Other stuff (negligible)
During "new device set up" I selected the option to copy my Pixel 4's data (selected everything) and it totaled 11 GB (why so low? see below for Apps). Total copying time was about 10-12 minutes.Pixel 6 screen shows that copying is done:
- Apps (not copied) - 109 apps to be installed - I am assuming apps do not transfer over directly and will need to be re-downloaded from the Google Play Store.
- Photos and Videos (successfully transferred)
- Music and other audio (successfully transferred)
- SMS messages (successfully transferred)
- MMS attachments (successfully transferred)
- Device Settings (successfully transferred)
- Call History (successfully transferred)
Once I got the "copying done" message, I can disconnect the cable but the new device still had the "Getting your phone ready" message for a few more minutes. For those of you who want to trade-in at the store and get the credit immediately, hopefully this helps estimate the time you need. For me, it took about 1 GB data per minute + additional 5 minutes or so for the new device to finish setting up (mainly downloading the apps).
Edit: Both devices were updated to Android 13 with Oct 5 security updates.

I personally own a Pixel 6 Pro now. I am trading it down for a smaller Pixel 7 too. Smaller, Less Heavy in my pocket, Easier to use with one hand, Flat screen rather than curve screen. I don't use/hardly use the telephoto camera on my Pixel 6 Pro.
Cheers.

They say the sales tax is figured on the full retail cost of the phone.. That's OK
I understand the $200 on 7 pro is a gift card,
But does the trade in value come as a BB gift card, or is it deducted from the price?
What I would like to do is
Trade in my Pixel 6 Pro 256 for the $545 they offer
Deduct that from the price of the phone.
Get the $200 gift card (via email immediately???"
Use that $200 gift card on the purchase of a Pixel watch at the same time I am in store.
