According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

I'm trading in an unlocked Pixel 4 XL and chatted with BB rep online to ask which one I should choose - (all the options to select a trade-in model were only carrier locked versions) and was told I could choose any of them since it doesn't matter - but then I checked the phone's settings and it matched up with AT&T so that's the one I selected.
I am just primarily interested in the camera and video of the Pixel 7 Pro.
The failure of the 7 Pro to kick into the telephoto camera on the first attempt of zooming is concerning/interesting.
Anyhow, I don't use the telephoto camera on my current P6P.
Going with a smaller and less bulky P7 this time for me.
