Pre-ordered, we'll let you know when your pre-order is ready.

Should I still wait for text message ready for pick up or should I just go in ??
Go and let us know what they say

Guess Best Buy is pulling the same $hit as they did at last year's Pixel 6 pre-order when I never actually got my P6 from them from my pre-order. Had to eventually cancel and go in the store where a manager put in an order to be shipped to my home instead of picked up in store. Now I have two different orders for two different locations and colors but still getting the same awesome notification from them on the day I was supposed to go pick it up:

"Best Buy: It's taking us longer than expected to get your pre-order ready. We'll let you know when it's ready for pickup. Tap Order Details for more information."

Anyone else getting this BS or have tips/suggestions on how to get my hands on the phone I pre-ordered for Oct 13 pick-up with trade-in and $100 GC?
TIA
I received the same messages, but I think the more likely reason is that their pre-order numbers didn't match the expected inventory received. Not surprising if you picked a color/capacity different than the "norm." I pre-ordered the 7 Pro in Snow 128GB; I would consider the 7 Pro in Obsidian 128GB to be the "norm."
A similar thing happened to me back with the S22 Ultra pre-order at Best Buy; pre-ordered 2/9/22 (Phantom White 256GB). Release date of 2/25/22 came and went with my pre-order then in backordered state. Didn't actually get it in until 4/2/22.
If the P7 Pro ends up being backordered, hopefully it won't be as long of a wait.

FYI, my S22 Ultra pre-order involved a trade-in, and the trade-in promotion value was still honored when the backordered phone came in.

Probably, but they told the person in this thread that the phone needed to be active for 60 days or something. My guess is either it was a financed phone that did need 60 days for best buy to get their commission or something, or the rep just said that to the person even if it didn't apply to that specific phone because they didn't know any better. I guess we'll find out, since I have a pixel 6 that's opened, but which was only picked up 8 days ago that I'll be trading in tomorrow
Sounds like the rep was 100% lying or just outright wrong. There's no fine print about 60 days anywhere.

Can you let me know if you have any issues? I have yet to pick up my 6 (I have until 10/20) and if I can't trade it in for a 7, I might just let both pickups lapse and just get the refund.

Promo comes off as they go through the submission. Shows on the last step after they submit. Thankfully. Like it shows when they have the option to print for the trade in. Lol

Edit; so the promo doesn't show up on the receipt but the phone is discounted to $649 which is $899-250.

Sweet. Baby Jesus that was difficult.

I'll report in here if I have any issues, but honestly not expecting any.

Just got back from BB.
Everything as expected, no issues, took me 30min.
You don't need to wait for the email confirmation if your order status say "ready to pick" on the website.
No issues with the trade in either, I had a cracked screen Pixel 6 PRO and got $397 for it.

Only issue right now is the virtual gift, received an email saying "Your gift card is ready" but when I log into BB website it says they are having a temporary system issue.

Update, tried again and got the e-gift card, all good.

For those getting not quite ready emails, check the status on your account. They overestimated stock and so some people are delayed for real and others aren't. E.g. I have 2 orders, one is ready, one is delayed. If I placed a new order for store pickup today, my store wouldn't have it in stock until 10/20 according to the website. I suspect a bunch of people are delayed and will be waiting a few days to a week for their orders to be ready.

Had different experience with pickup. The agents there told me they could only give me a BestBuy gift card for the trade-in value, instead of refunding me the amount back to my payment. They quoted "store policy difference". I canceled the order.

Same thing... Got the pro. The trade wasn't showing up the right amount.... Then the gift card issue.... But everything sorted itself in 30 mins....

They were wrong, I would have taken the $250 because then they'd be giving you a double. The phone gets discounted to 649 at checkout. The promo never actually shows. Lol

Got back from Best Buy and picked up my 7 Pro.

Originally charged for $973.17 via PayPal to Chase freedom when I pre-ordered.

Traded in an iPhone 11 for $490 ($190 plus extra $300)... after picking up, I got a refund for $530.43 credited via PayPal... so they credited back $490 plus tax... NICE especially since Google Store doesn't credit tax. (I'm in Texas, BTW)

So it looks like in their system, they charged me $599 for the 7 Pro and gave me another $190 for the trade-in... so $300 of the trade-in came off the phone price. Might be good to know in case of return complications. It was also confusing because some of the paperwork said that my trade-in was only $190.

Also got an email that my $200 e-gift card is ready.

So, altogether, if you count the $200 e-gift as cash then the 7 Pro just cost me $242.74 plus an iPhone 11... minus 5% by paying with PayPal and Chase freedom.
