- The $100 gift card is now included with the Pixel 7 in Snow, as of October 11.

Trade-in value notes:
- In states CA (please add more), tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo).
- In states NJ, NY, tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal).
- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

EDIT: Check the attached photo, marked in red.
On the bright side, at least your phone is there! Went to pick mine up, and they said they have no idea when it'll arrive.
Seems like having the phone wiped beforehand would be ideal if it was like a burner phone. Thing is, this is my main phone with a custom launcher, custom settings, etc. I have Google One, and am SD card but that still does not ensure a complete transfer.
Google includes a transfer adapter in the box.
I am tradeing Pixel 6 to 7 this time, here is the final bill,
Order Summary
Taxes have been updated
Product Total:$349.00
Sales Tax, Fees & Surcharges:$30.10
Close×
Final Tax Calculation
The estimated tax amount you saw in checkout has been updated based on your local taxes.
Trade-In Device-$230.00
Order Total
$149.10
Note: They took of the promo 250 off the original price, and then that is the remaining for taxes, the trade in value will be credit taxes back, so be aware on the trade in final paper showing just TIV,
So taxes in Bay area is tough as hell 10%, so ending up spending $149 and getting a upgrade phone, and a $100 dollar GC, (bought something immediately after getting the GC in 1mins of closing the transaction) finally couting as spending $49 for upgrade,
Not bad not bad,
For those of you picking up at the store, take note that you will have to do the data transfer at the store and leave your trade-in phone. They did not allow me to take the new phone home, do the tranfer and come back to give them my trade in.
I spoke to a manager and even offered to leave my state issued ID so that I can take my time and transfer my data tonight and come back tomorrow morning. Denied.
I have two years worth of stuff in my S20 Plus and wanted to ensure i got everything I needed before turning in the phone.
Pretty ridiculous and archaic system imo. They basically said that I couldn't take the phone with me because some people don't come back. So I'm supposed to stay at the store for God knows how long while my gigs and gigs of data is transferring and ruah to turn it in. This crap induces separation anxiety of my phone. LoL
For me it's the thought of losing something/data/pics,etc. that you didn't know you lost until you realize you've just lost it.
Had I known, I would have chosen the mail in option.

How did everyone get the trade-in refund? Anyone has the same experience? First time trade-in in Best Buy, not familiar with their process.
