- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

I used the same 12 mini from straight talk to trade a 13 last year. I remember I chose Verizon in the order. They didn't really care where the phone came from as long as it was not backlisted or blocked. However, I would suggest you open the box and only bring the phone in. That looks you are a normal user but not a deal hunter.
After they checked my trade-in pixel 6 pro I immediately received email saying I got $567 refund to offset the payment of $650 for the pixel 7. With the $100 gift card it is a very much even trade.
I don't understand why some people spend time to transfer/backup data in store. Shouldn't this be done before you walk in? Sounds so dumb.

Because lots of them not trying to do homework, just think all can be down like 1s for free. lol, I completely erase my phone before walk in, even skip the set up make it into mainscreen, easy process for the trade in, check, done, sign, and go.
I will be so piss of seeing a bunch of people walking in asking for curtersy for transfer the date, not even knowing android to android can be done by wire. Sighhh....

2. Back up manually, what kind of data you would need to save tho, just some pic, come on, just plug in PC, load it, drag it, done.
3. If really want to make a copy of the old one, done it in store using a USBC, and do set up transfer by wire.
Finally, I wonder how people still not using google cloud, or icloud, dropbox, saving pic and gamesaves, contact, etc... feel so old if not doing those, and make your life even worst by joining this promo deal. If so, just buy iPhone, apple genuine bar will do all that for free.
