So I got a new one (problem) here: went to store just now to return my unopened Pixel 7 Pro.
Was expecting full $899+tax refund back but they only gave me $699+tax back cause their systems deducted $200 for the promo gift card - which had been sent to me already.
Did not send in my P6 trade-in yet so this should have been a no brainer.

Arggh on phone now with 1800-BESTBUY speaking to 3rd person now...
LMAO, so you get the $200 GC for free?

No - I never claimed the GC, never even click the button do open it nor do I want it.
All gift card sales are final. It is like cash after issued. Whether you have retrieved it or not doesn't matter.

You can't educate low IQ people.

Also, let me know what happened with this issue. I may be in the same boat. I don't want to be stuck with the Bestbuy GC when I return an open box phone (that I bought without trade in) to try the phone.

Did you confirm your email for the GC? I have not confirmed my Email for the GC. Just thinking whether this will be a way out.
Finally -some1 who understands LOL.

Yes I confirmed it but my email is all over my BB account so I just thought they sent it there automatically due to the Pixel purchase.

I did not click on the button to "Claim Your E-Gift Card" in the BB email labeled as "Your e-gift card is ready."

So after 60 mins on the phone & chat, finally got a CSR who gave me [email protected] email to send my details to. Stay tuned.

What's the thing with so many trying to return? Deal not work out? Phone not good?

Once you confirmed and you received it in your email you have to get some very nice CS who's willing to cancel it since it comes as a code and pin which is visible unlike physical one where you need to scratch it off. The main thing was that you expected full refund knowing that GC was already send and received by you (I doubt BB can check if you claimed it or not since it won't show them until something is purchased with it). If BB nice enough they might be able cancel it but I'm sure that would require more work since they have to know the GF number/pin that was issued and if the system doesn't show it then it's as good as yours.

Good luck, but I have a feeling that you may end up with a dead end. Best buy systems may not allow to invalidate already issued GC and issue credit card refund.

I can see the only way out is talking to a store manager (hopefully the manager understands and willing to help out) to do a manual override for this.

I don't have much hope for this as well considering Best buy's un-customer friendliness and most people who work there are either moron's OR have attitude.
