And this is just a tactic to convince a lot of people who wouldn't install a smart speaker, to buy a TV with a built-in, always listening, Alexa device instead.

NSA Awards Secret $10 Billion Contract to Amazon
https://www.nextgov.com/it-modern...on/184390/
NSA quietly awards $10 billion cloud contract to Amazon, drawing protest from Microsoft
https://www.washingtonp
That contract is for AWS hosting services also.......
So…NSA can listen to me on a microphone that the wires been clipped and has been hit with a hammer and burned in a 55gal barrel or trash can with zero power, even though I have not given it any access to my wifi/told it my password/zero other Alexa devices in the house so no way possible to transfer password of Bluetooth or wifi the password it doesn't have?? 🤷 I have an iPhone, are you suggesting that it can automatically strip / hack my password that my iPhone has saved for my wifi and login to record me? Even though the mic is cut out and in the dumpster? Even though I allow zero devices to my network unless I manually add the MAC address? Are you saying a tv can record my voice even though I cut and bash it's mic/ear into pieces, it detects/knows that, then it scans for Android or Alexa devices to get the password to my WiFI, then Once it finds none it finds my iPhone, hacks it, steals my wifi password, figures out it still cannot access the internet so then it manipulates/spoofs my iPhone's MAC address that it just hacked all so it can access the internet and listen to a device / mic that I've removed and smashed with a hammer? Not trying to be rude by I'm doing 2+2 network security here. I can talk Calculus 3 in security if anyone out there can speak it…..imo you should easily be able to find all recording / monitoring devices and remove them. An extra step would be add it to WiFI, block all access, and use pfsense or other hardware firewall to monitor all attempted outgoing traffic. Unless it has a cell chip in it there is no way "Amazon/Alexa/TV/ET can Phone Home". Open to someone that knows more than 2+2 correcting me but imo I'm pretty sure that's the basics. Remove the monitoring device & then do not connect (if you have other Amazon, Alexa, android devices the you may have to worry a bit) easy fix. Go into router and only allow access to approved MAC addresses. It might be able to spoof, which I HIGHLY DOUBT IT, but even the that's fine go ahead and listen to a mic that been removed and smashed in a dumpster.
"It's literally already 100% proven the NSA can and does this with smartphones."
I agree, if you hav any Android (another convo)
, especially Alexa device it asks you right off the bat to allow to connect & scan for similar devices (even on iPhone) this I'm guessing is how they exploit it by finding and automatically allowing the connection of other Amazon or Alexa devices to share this TV your WiFI password, after all you clicked YES or OK to do this. But if you don't and have your router setup as I mentioned or even better yet have a hardware firewall built out of a POS/trash junk PC running a free version of PFSense you could eliminate all communication. Then no way NSA or anyone's getting around that, unless theirs a cell chip installed which can easily be scanned with a tool bought for <$100 or built by an idiot for under $50. Especially if step #1 - Find and remove mic/camera on the TV has been removed and h1tlary / smashed with a hammer Iike the blackberries
The point was..... if someone is really worried about this TV spying on them they need to take a look at their cell phones first.....
