It's sounds weird, but go half and half with Lawry's and McCormick Montreal steak seasoning on grilled streaks. Creates an amazing flavor.

An hour before you grill, pat it in on both sides and rest it. Thank me later.

Costco's supply is likely to be more fresh than Amazon's.

According to Lawry's website, the recommended shelf life is 450 days.

One might argue that nothing in this actually goes "bad", but it's actually more about flavor loss.

And the unfortunate problem with spice mixes is flavor loss happens at different rates for each spice, so you can't just "add more" to compensate.

My first thought was the family guy episode when peters band didn't go for his song "parsley, Sage, rosemary and lawry's seasoned salt. "

You should probably advise rubbing it off before actually putting it on the grill.

The sugar in the Lawry's and the sunflower oil in the McCormick are not conducive to a proper maillard reaction.

This sounds like a recipe for a weird texture that gets increasingly weird the longer you cook your steak.

My first subscribe and save order arrived yesterday from Sept 1 - 16oz for $2.76. Probably large enough for me (I was actually surprised by the size). I try to minimize my salt intake.

My go-to's are Old Bay and Cajun TwoStep [thecajuntwostep.com].

Problem is that many of these contain salt, so it's impossible to decouple flavor from saltiness.

Great for people with limited spices or a lot of space. Otherwise you can do it yourself:

2 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons white sugar
¾ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon cornstarch

If you have all of that then it's probably better to use what you have. I know I have enough aging/expired spices as it is. Otherwise - I love this stuff. I just ALSO love about 6 other kinds of salt blends also.
