I have the previous edition(with 11th gen intel) and I bought it for $1399.99 a year back.
I also own a LG Gram 17in (2000) and that is an excellent laptop, perhaps best windows laptop money can buy, not same with this LG Ultra 17inch.
I had 16 inch macbook pro from work may have been $2700 machine, I would say LG gram 17inch is even better than that, not same with this LG Ultra 17inch.
So what wrong and/or different?
The main flaw is the fans open and blow out at the bottom of the laptop. That makes it easy blocked when on lap or other uneven surfaces. Even when it is not block air flow is not great and hence fan runs for long and go on&on constantly(not like a old toshiba but something like a macbook).
And on my unit batteries failed in a 50days. So I need to be hooked to the charger always.
My edition came a brick charger, it does have USBC port with a charging icon besides it but it never worked with any charger(including macbook's charger)
Finally, this is not a LG gram i.e. not feather light and a totally different laptop barring the keyboard. Graphics Card?! just ignore that, it doesn't make up for the deep flaws of this machine.
ITS NOT WORTH $1399.
This not your LG gram 17inch.

A new laptop comes with 1 year warranty minimum and the factory refurbished ones are at least 3 months. 50 days is shorter than both of these. So, just a question. When your battery failed, why didn't you replace it or repaired it under warranty coverage?

Yes, I did contact the LG support. They emailed me mail-label valid for month to mail them machine for battery replacement. My bad, I wasn't able to backup and clean the laptop to send it over as it was in active use.
I will have to some day replace the battery myself.
But, as I mentioned is battery not even the main flaw or flaw of this machine. And no one should buy ~$1500 machine knowing they might have spend hours with support to get it fixed or even to replace/return it.

Hopefully they have addressed at least some of the issues regarding cooling in this year's model. Otherwise 12th gen Intel + dedicated RTX 3050 Ti will be a recipe for disaster. I will wait for some in-depth reviews. Otherwise, this is actually an unique device for the form factor, weight and I/O offered and perfect for a dual purpose office and productivity laptop. 17" 16:10 Screen with 99% DCI-P3, user upgradable Ram, two storage slots and a decent dedicated graphics, a freaking RJ-45 Port and all in 4.3 lbs form factor, lighter than most productivity 15 and 16 inch machines.
