What if I decide I do not like this laptop and return it before the 90 day period and I used the shopcard already?

Are you sure that's what they do? I have a receipt that shows my laptop was purchased 11/29/2015, so just under 7 years. Mfg date may show its over the 7 years. If I include receipt in my mail-in return I wonder if it would "qualify"
Definitely not sure, I just assume because it would be really easy to look up on their end but maybe they don't care that much so it's kind of the honor system. Wouldn't surprise me as it's Costco.

I stay away from any laptop with recognized hinge issues. I've bought two over the past few years that were used carefully, even left open on a desk for 95% of usage just to avoid potential hinge issues, yet all it took was one fateful open/close to break the weak hinge connections. On the other hand, I have a 6 year old Dell 5000 series 2 in 1 that hasnt been babied at all, and not a single issue, with no reports of wide spread hnge issues either. Take the warnings as real, or you might be the next person commenting on these threads about it.

FWIW...I bought overpriced accident/damage protection warranties from the manufacturers before my 1 year original warranty was up, and used that to fix the hinge and immediately sold them after and replaced with laptops that didn't have the issue. Manufacturers (particularly Dell and Lenovo, even bought through Costco) will NOT honor a warranty repair for hinge issues, always claiming it as accident damage and not a manufacturer defect.

Yes but 8gb ram would cost about additional $70?
Few more differences than just simply RAM. The first link below is the Walmart version's spec. The Costco version adds the OLED screen, stylus, the 8gb additional RAM, and 1 year premium care (which is onsite repair), and 1-2 more years extended warranty (2 years if you use your Costco Visa).

How crazy Smilie Literally almost 7 years on the dot!

They go by bios date, so if that's 10/12/2015, then I would give them a call and get clarification on this one.
