I think there is an argument for Ryzen 7000 if you have the money and plan to upgrade as the X3D and Zen 5 chips become available. That said, I think people in this boat are the minority. Short of a big price cut on the platform, I'm holding with my 5900x setup and waiting for the Newer AM5 chips. I can't justify the upgrade at this time.

What is the difference in performance between this DDR5-5600 and the optimal DDR5-6000 on the 7000 series? I'm kind of hesitant to go for it because of that.

This is a firm wait and see. Microcenter is going to give you the lowest spec ram to try and push next gen. My local store has lots of stock of 7000, but no ram. Which tells you they aren't selling all that well.

That would be a premature upgrade, good move. I would think that upgrading the gpu every generation would be better then upgrading the cpu.

I was planning on going moving up from my 2700 +x370 based system to a 7600x but I'm really disappointed with the half assed heat spreader just to maintain AM4 cooler compatibility. 20 degree drop from delidding is wayyyyyy too much. They left a ton of performance and potentially longevity on the table.

The manager gave me a hard time when I reserved the ram during the giveaway. I went to pick it up last monday, they told me the sale expired. On their ad there was no expiration date. It only said while supplies last. I had to chat with the Microcenter help desk. Chat told me they should be able to extend the promotion. They told me to speak to the manager again regarding the issue. He wasn't too happy when I showed him the chat. This was at this exact store
