I wanted to not like this boot, which I got as a gift, but other than not being waterproof, honestly....it's a really solid boot. Mine has held up far longer than I expected, is pretty rough, and is damn comfortable. Unless you need a really technical type boot, this is hard to beat at $60. Soars over a lot in that price range (columbia, etc).

OR if possible, how do you waterproof your dry hiking boots? I heard from a family member that his USPS coworker would spray his ultra light walking shoes to keep the water out. Anyone know what spray on this would be?

Are these pretty true to size? New Balance for example runs wider, from what I hear...

Also, how are these for winter weather? Not talking about wading through several feet of snow, just a foot or less probably. Like driveway stuff

Edit: this seems like it isn't waterproof. I'll pass for now

I wear these types of hiking boots for yard work around my house. I Also have a small slope int the backyard. Makes it easy to climb that wearing hiking boots

In for one once the current ones wear out

I wanted to not like this boot, which I got as a gift, but other than not being waterproof, honestly....it's a really solid boot. Mine has held up far longer than I expected, is pretty rough, and is damn comfortable. Unless you need a really technical type boot, this is hard to beat at $60. Soars over a lot in that price range (columbia, etc).

I just don't this it's possible because of the mesh with holes to allow breathability. The waterproofing spray would just be to protect the shoe's fabric.
Well, I guess you could cover it in silicone caulk!

Great boot got it in brown just grabbed the black now would suggest going up half size, has the rounded toe which barely touches my toes a little annoying, next boot I buy will be half size up

Presumably that was the Moab 2. These are the new Moab 3 which is what makes it such a good deal (Moab 2 have been going for a little over $50 for a while as they are cleared out)

Get the Moabs. REI's recent reentries into the footwear market haven't been terribly well-reviewed, while the Moabs have been around forever. The Moab 3 is a recent new iteration and reviews are fresh, but probably still a better choice.
