I went to my local Costco and they did not have the TV in stock but was able to find some in the Lancaster Store.
They started out the day with 10 in stock and by the time I got there at 1:30pm, they were down to 5 ( one on the floor and 4 in the cage which the manager said they could not get to today but will bring them out for tomorrow)
So if the Lancaster Costco [google.com] is not too far for you then you should be able to get one 1st thing tomorrow at 10am when they open up.

I'd consider posting about thrift store finds to be lucky duck deals/once in a lifetime and no hope of replicating vs. big box store finds.

Bestbuy, if available, has fair condition ones for 525. Obviously a new one, with Costco warranty, for $500 is a way better deal, but this doesn't sound like a once in a lifetime deal like a mad father selling his son's mustang for $5,000 or whatever.
