I got a refurbished iPhone Xr last spring from TF. It didn't unlock after 60 days, I was told that the device was initially activated before 11/23/2021. For devices activated prior to that date the minimum service requirement is 1 year. could not get Cr to budge. In June I traded it (still locked to TF) in for $700 off iPhone 13 Pro max on ATT at Costco without any issues.
Battery health was 100%
Some people mention a bad replacement screen on reconditioned TF iPhones - I didn't notice any issues with screen.
In August I got another reconditioned XR with $50 off promo (6000 TF rewards points) primarily as a backup for kids when they will eventually break their iPhones. The screen felt a little laggy on that one, not sure if this is due to replacement screen. Battery health still 100%

I didn't see this in the wiki but it's probably buried within the 17 pages, so I apologize in advance.

Will the device unlock after 60-days even if I just pay for 1-month of $15 service? Or does the service with TF need to be active on day 60?

The initial activation starts the clock ticking. 60 days later it will auto-unlock, regardless if you still have service or not.

Has anyone traded in a locked tracfone iphone to AT&T and had any issues? Typically the trade in approval takes longer than the return window of the actual phone you get so worried it might be rejected and I'll be stuck with the phone I got without any trade in value.

Did you try to force restart it ? "Press vol up, vol down and hold power, this will do a force shutdown" Sorry if my suggestion looks stupid just trying to help.

yes; when I power back up it is on hello screen and only way out of that is to swipe up which has been disabled by ios16. Apple store says it is due to third party screen on the phone. So ios16 makes third party screens (like on the Tracfone version) unusable and there is no way to revert back to ios15 if you do not have a backup (I did not backup since I had nothing on the phone when I received it).

I read that it is still possible to downgrade to iOS 15.7 because this version is still signed by Apple. Please read here https://www.iphonetricks.org/ios-...om-ios-16/

You need to do it quickly because Apple may stop allowing the downgrade at any time.

Mine was fine even after upgrading to latest iOS. Traded it in at BB no problems.

Did you trade in for pixel 7? If so i dont see any other carrier option other than att verizon tmobile and sprint?
