Cpu about the same performance between the Pro's M1 and Air's M2, with the Pro a smidge faster under continuous load.
GPU on the Pro is 2x+ faster than the Air.

Fan NOT in the Air, so runs hotter at 44C in spots vs 41C Pro.

Battery runtime , wifi surfing at FULL brightness is nearly 4 hours longer in the Pro.

THUS, PRO > AIR.

I'd bite if Apple didn't solder on the ram and SSD. It's a shame to put 256gb in this machine.

m2 Air is better. But cost more. This is just okay for me since if I spend close to 1K i want 16GB ram (even for a Mac M1). The best deal currently IMO is the Macbook Pro 14" for $1599.

How about screen webcam etc? Battery is wild I thought the Air would beat it

Just when you thought Apple finally understood that touch bar is a bad idea and was going to remove it from their new products, they come out with another one of these. I wouldn't take one of these even if you lower the price by another $200. Fortunately we have alternatives like the Airs and the 14" Pro.

Problem with the M2 I see is that it is still based on M1. They still can only support a maximum of 2 displays. Which means you can only have 1 external display on the Air/Pro without the M1 Pro. The MacBook Pro with M1 Pro on the other hand can support up to 4 displays and has a lot of ports for USB-C hub extension.

I'm pretty sure you're looking at the 14" Apple MacBook Pro with M1 Pro when you claim GPU is 2x faster. In no test do I see the Apple MacBook Pro 13 Late 2020 has 2x the GPU performance...

This is Costco though. Comes with a 2 year warranty + 2 years added for buying on a Costco Citi Card + 90 days return policy.

just watched a review and it said both have the same mediocre 720p webcam, which is a shame because 1080p good quality webcam is like what, $50? pro screen has 25 more nits than the air
