The predecessor to this version is my all time favorite (and currently used) headset, BUT be warned of a fatal design flaw in the hinge. While this version has reinforced it, it's only done so with plastic. If you look up "Arctis pro hinge" on Google, you can find plenty of content on how they've completely fallen apart and the absurd lengths people (myself included) have gone through to fix or reinforce it. For normally 350 USD, the only hinge the product depends on shouldn't be made of plastic. If you do buy it, I recommend reinforcing it, even if it does mean ruining the beautiful outside of the product. It'll save you in the long run.

I'll continue to rock my 1st generation ones until they give, but I wanted to warn you guys. It's an AMAZING head set, it's just absolute bummer of a product issue I'd rather you folks not face later on.

That being said, for 250, that's a great price.

Yup - this one works on Xbox, PC, Switch and PlayStation 4/5.

For those that own the Arctis Pro Wireless, here's the comparison - https://www.rtings.com/headphones...shold=0.10

IMO it's not worth upgrading from the Arctis Pro. Otherwise it's a nice headset overall.

How did the Line Of Sight Range drop by 30 ft on the Nova Pro?
That's terrible!

And no optical input on the base anymore?
Seems like the old version is better!

if you can check the price history of the previous version, you will find you are wrong. The lowest price the previous version went was $270 at staples. Then NEVER ANY discount anymore!
What? Do you mean the Artis Pro Wireless? I myself bought it for $199. It was a sale on Woot. I'm sure you can find the thread on SD. And before you ask - it was new; not refurbished or used. In fact it went on sale on Woot at that price more than once. It also went on sale for $240 at Amazon. And Steelseries even sold it for less than $200 a couple of times. Not sure where you got the idea of $270 being the lowest price. I'm reasonably certain it has sold for $250 multiple times.

I agree with the other comments. The Nova Pro Wireless is a good headset but $350 retail is a bit much. Note that even Steelseries themselves have been selling it for $308 any day all day since launch. There is a code (DUKE) that has always worked on their website since the day of launch. Obviously it's not selling that well and that's why they dropped the price this soon. In fact amazon is giving 10% cash back to prime Visa card holders on this headset. So if you have the card it's $225 already. I'm sure it'll too go on sale for $200 relatively soon, but perhaps not this year. I can see the $250 price repeat on thanksgiving though.

This headset Sounds great. However I had to return it as it's extremely painful in my esrs. It has a bump in the middle of the earcups for the ANC mic and it touches my esr making it painful after an hour. Lots of comments on reddit and some youtube videos about this problem. And I have very small ears

I have had these a few months, I bought them as a Amazon Warehouse deal from from a family member that is over in Spain (amazon.es). - for about this price. EU amazon warehouse have a 3 year warranty by law, and I paid about this price in US dollars back a few weeks after launch (~$250 USD) . The headphones are decent, but as with all steelseries headphones, the headphones themselves have questionable build quality. These feel better made than their other headphones, but still feel flimsy. Once again, steelseries could have made a perfect set of headphones had they just constructed them better. The part where the hinge still feel like they could break. Others on reddit have noticed that they have noise at that joint when they move their heads around (I have not personally noticed this yet). I have no issues with comfort personally, but my son finds them uncomfortable because of the mic sticks out in the ear cup. The ear cups also should have been deeper to avoid this. On the plus side, I can game on my xbox series x or ps5 while connected to a phone via bluetooth at once, and after you connect these to a PC to change the EQ settings, they do really sound very good. For the price here, and in my case, with a 3 year warranty I was ok with these. They should have launched at this price. Just be wary if you do need warranty service because of the ear cups breaking off, steel series seems to not replace headphones under warranty if they break at that hinge from what most people report on steelseries sub-reddit thread.

Would buying the extra 2 or 3 year accidental warranty be a good idea?

I'm debating returning. Again I think they could of knocked it out the park here, but at this price point they didn't. It doesn't feel "premium" at all. First of all no stand, flimsy design (hardly any weight to them) and they sound just the same as my Steelseries 7X that also worked on both ps5/Xbox. At $150 I think these are perfect, above not really. I think Astro a50 may be a better buy although I still wouldn't pay $300 for it.

Just paid $100 more for these a week ago from Best Buy. Sound is decent with Sonar turned on, but not worth double what my Arctis 7 Novas cost. Would have gone with a different brand but the simultaneous bluetooth and range on Arctis are what keeps me coming back. Also like the live chat mix. I'll have a movie playing in the background on the chat channel while I'm working or gaming on the main channel. On headset mixing (click the volume wheel to switch) allows me to change focus instantly. (Nothing like watching Rick and Morty during a Zoom call). If you want great sound, shop elsewhere, if you want great features go Arctis (but go with the 7's).

Also, hot swappable batteries in the base station is a big plus for people using them for extended time periods. Never have a dead headset again.

I do not know when you bought it.
I have been keeping an eye on this headset (previous version) for at least more than one year. NEVER saw such low price as you mentioned. It might be at that price for very short time, or the deal already expired before showing up in slickdeals.
Still, I would like to say $250 is a very good deal for this set. If you want to wait for less than $200, you might have the luck in the future. It is your choice though.

Yeah. I agree with you that if one wants to buy it, this is a good price and good time to buy. That's why I got i despite having the Pro Wireless. I doubt the price will go further down anytime soon.

Also, for the previous version, you are right those $200 sales don't last long. One has to be lucky and happen to catch it on slickdeals when it's posted. They usually get sold out fast.

That being said - If you consider that it's relatively early in this product's life cycle and we are already seeing a 'multi retailer' sale that's lasted this long, it bodes well for an 'easily obtainable' $200 sales in the future - I'm guessing an year from now or prime day 2024.

I found the headsets extremely comfortable with the foam cushion however I did notice it got real hot/warm real quick. Again, a stand would had been nice, they just throw in a bag that you'll prob never use to transport/store it. I didn't notice much of a true noise cancellation when using it. Other reviewers have stated it has active noise cancelling and it doesn't work that well, I can still hear things outside of them. @$160-180 these are a buy. Wouldn't pay much more. Mine are going back. Can't justify the $250 price tag for a product that doesn't feel full premium.
