I used to only use rechargeable AA with my Xbox controller too but then I found out the seemingly most obvious thing ever, but somehow I never knew so making sure you're not on the same boat. You can plug in a micro usb charger (older android phone chargers) onto the top of the controller. Doesn't have to be physically connected to the xbox, changed my life lol. Hope that helps you

I think they're saying that a charge will last 5 years meaning it will take 5 years for it to go from 100% of charge to 0% if left unused. Not that the batteries will only last 5 years and have to be thrown away....

Anyone have advice on a good charger? I have a couple of the small 4 battery chargers but I would like a big one that smart charges a bunch at once.. so I can keep them 'docked' and use the batteries I need when I need them vs remembering to swap

Thats a damn good price. Just a little over a for high capacity Eneloop pro. I recently paid close to $2/each for Ikea LADDA aa's also made in Japan. They're both the same according to many posts I've read over the years.

Was at Ikea last month and their AA and AAA rechargeables were made in somewhere in South America. No more Japan.

I didn't know rechargable batteries have a shelf life of only 5 years. The item description stated "...the double A batteries have up to a 5 year battery life with normal use"

The Energizer rechargeable batteries that I got from Costco a while back are made in Japan.
The ones that came with a charger and there were 4 AAA and 6 AA.
That set was $14.99 in store.
They are terrific batteries.

If they aren't I can just return them next Costco run.

Bought 2 packs with included chargers last year and can confirm they were made in Japan. Just ordered this. Can't have enough rechargeable.
