The specs look fantastic. I would think this would be overkill for most users. Would love to have one.

Great specs, but if keyboard is an important factor to you, I would recommend to check the keyboard quality in person. Vivobook keyobard is not as good as the higher end ASUS models.

Good placement on the touchpad too. Better than many who center it on keyboard make using it awkward.

Hmm. 16gb on board, 0 available slots, 32gb max

Anyone know how that works?

Likely means that the the 2 slots are full, with each slot having 8GB of RAM each. If you want to increase to 32GB, you'd have to remove the memory inside the notebook already and replace it with two 16GB RAM chips or one 32GB if it supports that.

EDIT: I missed the "on-board" wording for the RAM. High chance the memory isn't configurable at all and is soldiered on.

yeah... likely correct, but the 'onboard' usually means soldered.... hopefully you are correct!

edit
Home now and did a bit of research. It's soldered. You get what you get based on model purchased.

Actually, you're likely right and I'm wrong. I missed the "on-board" section. High chance the memory isn't swappable. Most notebooks have soldiered on ram anymore.

Yea idk why they list it that way when it's soldered ram with no slots. I've seen it before on other Asus laptops too. I get that they have other configs with more ram but it's not like you can customize to order these on demand, the way they list it creates confusion.

People complain that makes it respond when you're typing cause your right hand is resting on the trackpad.

Everything looks good except for the 11th Gen CPU but given the price that is not that bad a compromise. Weight is not bad at all for a 16" ! 16GB ram would be OK if upgradable but it's not. Would be great deal if some site somewhere had a 10% discount

Funny on how these laptops threads people note one or two deficiencies as prime deficiency, yet the deficiencies we note are different.
At one point in my life the weight and battery life would be the top two considerations At another point ease of user upgrading.
As you get older the brightness and sharpness of screen could be more important.

If you do a lot of typing on the machine, the the mediocre keyboard may be an issue even if everything else is great. For some it is lack of touchscreen, yet a lot of others wont buy if it does have a touchscreen
The real deal breaker -- for me -- is the keyboard.
