I got one of these for $69-ish during the pandemic. The bar works just fine. I had to order a second because the issue was that the box it came in spewed out tons of flying ants into my mail room. It was terrible. I tossed it outside and Walmart sent fedex to pick it up. fedex never did and walmart refused to give me my money back so I just reported it to my credit card.

Working out with this bar right now. I'm not trying to enter any kind of competition any time soon so I'm not loading this thing with 1000lbs. Max's are in the mid 300s. This bar is solid, it does the job

edit: The knurl could be better.

Agree. I have one too. It was 69+ sometime last year. Definitely not the lowest - but then again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good bar, but at $99 it's not a steal. Prices have continuously dropped for a while now. Tru Grit is one of those brands that start high (especially during the pandemic) then slowly starts dropping. I'd say at $60 it's a good price for the bar… and it'll get there again. Prices are still coming down and Walmart seems to be a place that has been presenting those pre-Covid prices

Not familiar with this specific bar, but a barbell isn't the equipment I would skimp on. $100 for a no name import? I've used many like it and No thanks. I'd wait for Black Friday and get a quality bar that you will love using. You can get a bar that will last you a lifetime, with great knurl, smooth spin and quality components from Rogue or American Barbell or even Wright Equipment for not that much more in the big picture. (Ex: Wright had cerakote bars for $225 last year). If you haven't used a high quality bar, you are definitely missing out. The experience is just so much better.

I bought this and the rep sabre with center knurl, I highly recommend the rep sabre over this one. The knurl on the sabre can be a bit sharp but from the sound of it every one in this conversation prefers a better grip over a painful slip. I got the rep sabre over the 4th of july for 135$. Sadly i paid around 150$ for the tru grit.

The bar has the best spin of any bar I have ever used! Mine arrived with no damage at all. It is easily worth $99.
