These are definitely worth it for the price. They have good separation and don't require an amp at all to drive them. The soundstage isn't as wide as other options but it's good. Super light and gentle clamping pressure made these a buy for me. My only 2 cons would be that the headband can be uncomfortable at times and the bass doesn't quite get low enough for these to be amazing. All in all though they're fantastic for the price.
I directly compared these to The Phillips X2HR and while it was a tough call I went with these. The deciding factor was the X2HR having this issue where you had to turn the volume up to get everything to sound good, but doing so caused the treble to get sibilant and was very discerning. They were way more bulky but had a more premium feel. I LOVED the adjusting headband, it was very comfortable. Clamping pressure wasn't too bad either but more than the 599. In the end though you buy headphones for the sound as long as they are moderately comfortable and the Phillips just let me down in the highs
In comparison I had some HD 58X jubilee and loved those headphones but some devices required an amp for them to get loud enough and the clamping pressure was so immense it hurt my jaw immediately. Amazing sound though

and i'm using it for gaming and music
Bass leaves something to be desired, but fantastic open back headphones for the price $89, which is even lower than the 99 you would often see them for more frequently

I have an old pair of X2HR's that recently got damaged and I'm debating on what to get to replace them. I've been seeing X2HR's in sale for $80.recently and have hard time finding anything comparable for the price.
I've always used a fiio portable amp with them and never experienced the uncomfortable treble though.
