Are you sure? Tensor G2 on Pixel 7 sucks, beaten by SD 888 which is used on this One Plus 9.

Larger screen, battery, higher refresh rate and charging speed. Pixel 7 has newer Android OS 13 though.
Google may be good at softwares, but the Pixel line has never been a great Android device.

This is a LOT of phone for $350. I bought the OnePlus 8 for same price and I was very happy, kind of regret trading the phone to Google for $300 towards Pixel 6a

Worth mentioning that the 5G here is not mmWave.

Totally agree that the Pixel line is disappointing so far but OP 9 is not without issues.
I returned this phone last year because of overheating and it was constantly freezing and I have a friend that had a lot of issues after upgrading to Android 12

I have OnePlus 8t.. worth upgrading?
I came from the 8t to the 9 and it's not really worth the upgrade. The 9 maintains a faster charge past 80%. The camera is a bit better but nothing crazy. Besides that it feels the same

My 8T feels blazing fast and very smooth after android 12 update when I compared it to my wife's very recent pixel 6. It's the best phone I have ever owned.

9 is good for under $300. Its fast, camera is decent. I updated to os12 and sometimes it doesnt respond to touch.

The phones are too similar to justify the upgrade, unless you have the green OP8T. Might be worth it to ditch that color.

So you can use two lines. OnePlus doesn't support eSim either so if you have two lines this is not an option. I've used OnePlus since the op3 came out, but now after having significant issues when updating my op8 to android 12 and their new phones not having dual sim capabilities I'll be looking for something new. Can't find anything that is decent without a ridiculous price tho, so it looks like I'll be staying with my op8 for a while

Three things. If you have a pixel 6 and performs fine for your needs (mine does) then this means nothing.
I don't know how benchmarks translate to reality any way (does anyone?). I doubt it makes a difference for my Browser, Email, Text, Signal msg life which plays into my first note.
Finally, that article ends with a big caveat you left out - "Also, the Pixel 7 Pro could just have been experimented with a lower-clocked Tensor G2, and improved results could be seen in the near future when we approach the official launch."
