WD is selling a bundle of 2 x 8TB RED NAS HDD w/ 256MB cache for $259.98 right now. A little better of a deal than this one.

That 14 tb is $209 and $1 less than $15/tb. Seems like a great deal. My 4k Plex drive fills up way faster than I expected!!

How would a Red Plus drive's life do with frequent starts/stops as part of a desktop setup rather than running 24x7? Is it built more robustly overall or is it just designed with a better always-on motor that would dislike power cycles?
