I was checking out my Google One offers (I am on the 2TB plan) and saw an offer for a free USB-A or USB-C Titan Security Key. I am not really sure if you need to be on the 2TB plan or not, but free is free!

Unfortunately, since I already ordered it, I cannot remember where exactly I saw the offer. It may have been in my offers tab [google.com] or it may also be on the Titan Security Key [google.com] page . Per the TOC, I had to add it to the cart, and it automatically applied a full credit, plus free shipping.

Enjoy!

Here is an article talking about the deal. Apparently it is good through the 18th of this month.

Because we have things like Google Authenticator and Duo that effectively do the same thing?

And these FIDO U2F keys make it so you can't enter that secret number on a spoof website.

This is used to provide multi-factor, passwordless, or PIN based authentication to devices, applications, and web sites. It’s more secure and convenient than receiving text messages with auth codes. This is a competitor to Yubikey, which I prefer.

Worked for me, on 2tb plan as well. Code was only working for usb A, could not get it to work on usb C version. I'll take it, they are both nfc and should work with most phones. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the heads up. The offer showed in my 2TB Google One account.

I tried to order the USB-C / NFC first, but the code would not apply. I was charged full price of $35 plus tax. Could not get the promo to apply after several attempts.

Cleared my cart and added the USB-A / NFC. Promo code worked. As mentioned above, even though the key is USB A, it also has NFC, so should work with phone and/or tablet.
