I have these and this is a steal. My only complaint is I wish I'd bought them sooner.

Excitedly Almost pulled the trigger, googled reviews on this model washer, and they are TERRIBLE….Leaks, balance issues, electrical board and so on.

Bought an LG front loader set in 2009, it's seen heavy use and is still going strong having only replaced a cold water inlet valve about a year ago, just thinking on replacing before a major issue hits unexpectedly.

Sadly, because of reviews from people that have this unit 1-3years, I'm passing, not worth the risk.
You can grab the extended warranty for added peace of mind. I almost didn't jump on this due to the bad reviews, but from a mathematical standpoint, the failure rate seems to be less than 10% on this model (based solely off of the positive reviews vs negative reviews). People also overwhelmingly report negative experiences over positive, so I figure the leak issues are closer to 5% of the time. Of course, I don't excuse LG for having poor quality control, but figure it's worth the $2,500 savings to score a sweet set and gamble on odds that are highly in your favor.

I bought this same model washer at Best Buy open box good condition for $500. It's been working great. Everytime I see the regular price or "sale price" I feel like I stole the washer for the price I got it lol

Thanks for the feedback I was comparing the 9000 to the 8900 since they are closer in price. The 8900 being $700 more. They also both appear to be the same size 5.2cu. Only thing I could find was 8900 had smart IQ sensing Ai. The 9500 set is $3300 vs $1600. I would think there would be some feature other than size 5.2cu vs 5.8 that would justify the cost.
I might pull the trigger on the $1600 electric set. Hope it works as well and as long as my 2006 LG set.

EDIT: Pulled the trigger. Wonder if its worth hunting down the pedestal and may buy the extended Allstate warranty to be safe after receiving them. Looks Like it can be added up to 90 days after purchase.
A few design choices are a little unusual on the 9000/9500 vs the 8900, such as the control panel being in the door instead of on the machine, and the detergent tray being on top under a sliding cover instead of in a pop-out drawer in front. Just some slight differences to note.

Edit: deleted part about TurboWash 2.0 vs TurboWash 360. It appears all the mega washers have 2.0 and the newer mid levels (3900/4000/4200) all have TurboWash 360.

also go to the product page on the LG site, I got $75 in online rebates. $75 for washer. It came up as a residential public service rebate for PSEG in NJ. I'm not sure how it works across the country. I'll update after delivery if it actually goes through. UPDATE: dryer is not eligible for a rebate

Where do you see the rebate on the page? I have NJCPL and no rebate for the gas dryer only washer

I might cancel my order - says this model came out in 2017!? Wow. Too old for my taste.

I see a review from Oct 2017 and another from 2020.

The ones i have now are $700 more expensive than this but are the 2022 models,

What say you guys?

Switch and save $700 or keep?

Do we need to disconnect the old washer ourselves for haul away before the delivery guys come? Or the delivery guys will disconnect and haul away the existing washer before installing the new one?

Just for calling me a troll I won't post it. Check my post history, do I appear to be trolling?

Literally no benefit to post and lie about it. Nothing.

In SoCal they have Best Buy Outlet stores that only sell open box items at deep discounts. Those that know…… know.

what is the minimum door width requirements for these to get in? The webpage says the dryer is 29x33.75x41.25 (WxDxH). Thank you!

Model date and manufacturing dates are different?

I doubt Costco would be selling a product that have been in shelves since 2017. Regardless I think they must have fixed all the bugs. It's out of stock in Best Buy and everywhere and I've been wanting to be a good machine for a while. They must have fixed all the bugs through the years.

Check the manufacturing dates on the machine when you receive it

My 16 year old LG Tromm front loads are still kicking but decided to replace them. In the same boat as you may have installers move them to the garage for local FB or Nextdoor sale. Thinking $300 for the pair.
So who takes them if you can't get that 500lb washer and dryer set sold?

Don't you have to pay for the gas installation again? costco's installers are charging me for the gas hookup saying they need a permit even though I have a gas dryer installed already. They're charging $88

You've already stated that they are too old for your taste, which means you have zero interest in them. As far as switching, these are too old for your taste, so I think you've answered your own question, but also, I am not really sure why you would ask this question when you've already stated that you don't want these ones due to their age.
