How does this compare to Ryobi 6 1/2 brushless, factoring in battery systems? This has a little better cut depth, but the battery and other tool deals with Ryobi are plentiful

The Kobalt has a better build quality. It's also heavier, more powerful and will do deeper cuts. Part of that is due to the extra power of Kobalt's 24v vs Ryobi 18 v.

Thanks! I wonder if it's worth it for my usage. With Ryobi, I can get the 6.5 saw for $57, and a ROS, 2 4 AH batteries, and charger for $100. That's $160 total. I would love to have this Kobalt one, but the batteries, charger, and ROS altogether would be a lot more based on what I'm seeing Frown

It's a bummer, bc how many 6.5 saws do you see with the same cut depth as 7.25?

I wouldn't decide which brand of eco-system to get into just based off One tool. In general, you'll get more for your money with Ryobi. They have way more tools and so way more deals are available.

This Kobalt is only priced so low because it's getting Clearanced out for the new $129 model. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-2...5013201403

That Ryobi brushless 6.5" saw is still a great deal at $57 and it's a good saw. It's a big improvement over the brushed P507. It's also lighter and more compact, which is not a bad thing.

Went to a Lowes where this was in stock. Its price there is still the full $129. (And yes the product number matched). None of the other brick seek Kobalt deals were active either (like the tape measure for $5).
Anyone have insight as to why or how often this happens with brickseek deals?

Thanks for the response. I initially wanted a ROS, which is why I got the Ryobi deal a month ago. Other than newer tech and a marginal improvement in RPM, the Kobalts look to be the same, minus the claims of same cut depth as 7.25 with the new one.

I thinkm i'm going to stick with Ryobi. It seems like a better value for someone like me that's new and won't use them often.

each lowes store sets their own prices...some have items at clearance while others have full price...you might have to shop around to different lowes stores...BS is not 100% accurate

Has anyone actually seen this price in store? I think what happened was this price was how the saw was listed in a bundle when you bought a 4 tool combo.

How about it zip code 30004? There's a small bunch of stores with stock at this price.

I picked this up today for the clearance price in California. They only had one on the shelf and it had the yellow clearance sticker on it. Military discount stacks on top of this, so it was a little over $50. I was there to buy the Kobalt 24V Impact Wrench on clearance and saw this.

On the Kobalt/Lowes deals posted here you have about a 1% chance of replicating. The price shown on website for your store is generally accurate as to what it will ring up for.

Thanks I'm kinda new to tracking down brickseek deals but that helped. I ended up being able to locate a store who had the price posted at $55 and went and got it. Much appreciated!

Yes bought one yesterday in NH, was not easy to find though was way on top of an unrelated shelf had to get someone to get it. They are in white boxes whereas the newer model are in blue boxes and easy to get to.

That's the magic of Lowe's "YMMV".

Brickseek said Lowes had 5 in stock. Went and looked but they had 5 of the new models. I used to teach the kid that was helping me so he looked for the older model in back stock and they had none.
