Since this is asked so much:
Pixel 6a is not available for trade in because it's new and Google still sells them.

What's the best bang for buck deal? I tried going through Best Buy but it wants me to login. I just want to know what the trade-in value is.
Verizon is offering $700 for a trade-in for my Pixel 5 but the credits are over 36 months.

EDIT, seeing the offer from this link now. It's not thr same from the Fi portal.
When they receive your phone trade in, if it matches what you promised to send, they will credit your credit card the amount. So you'll see a credit of $950.
Now, I think your concern may be how they can credit you more than you paid and I don't have a good answer for that. Nothing in the terms say what they'll do if the credit is higher than the original payment but I take solace in the fact that when your trade in IS higher it actually shows as a negative final amount. Best Buy won't even let you proceed if that's the case.
I had the Best Buy trade in all set and literally just got an email confirming that my phone is ready but that was going to be $246 out of pocket and a $200 gift card. Even then if I wasn't happy with the P7 I'd be paying a restocking fee. So I think I'm all in for this, instead.

total bill for the phone < trade in, you get difference as cash
(yes, if the phone costs $0 because you got massive Google store credits, you can get hundreds of $ on your CC after trade-in)
If you return the 7, trade-in becomes credit.

I'll have to hit up their support and see what they say.
Best Buy says my phone is only worth $700. So going for the Pro was the only option. And like I said initially, I'm looking to downside

I'll hit them up tomorrow with the same question and see if I get a different answer lol
