There are a lot of technical people in these forums and we need solid evidence why, not just "I wanted a new shiny toy"... Once we have real world experience and evidence from the ones traded in their phones, then many will be able to make an informed decision. I dislike s22u for a number of reasons but don't want to switch to Google just because it's Google. There's absolutely nothing superior about the phone
Lol if you're a "technical person" why are you relying on the subjective opinion of some rando on the internet.

I agree with the other poster, getting to just switch up to a new device in itself has value for many people.

The experience would be different and for many it might be worth the switch (at no out of pocket cost now). I got my s22U for like $500ish after trade in so being offered $900 seemed tempting. Software experience is different (in some ways better), camera experience is better in some ways (shutter lag has always been an issue on Samsung phones including my s22U), the screen having a less aggressive curve is nice too.

Thank you for the fast reply!

So to clarify, if this works, I would pay the $325 (25x13) in full, freeing up the phone for trade (can it be immediately unlocked before the deals end?). The $12 and change that I am to receive over the next 13 months will roll into bill credits instead of equipment credits?

Thank you!!
Yup that's been my experience over several devices as recently as this last Spring.

Chat is pretty quick and responsive in the app though. Go verify for yourself! Maybe there's something different about the account or something?

I have almost a month to test it out, worst case I return it. I've had nothing but Samsungs for close to 10 yrs, wouldn't mind changing it up.
Exact same reason I threw in. Had been stuck with Samsung for a while, it's a great phone but their trade-in promotions are outstanding so staying was the best idea every time. Until now a reprieve from Pixel.

If I could pay little to none for trading in my cracked note 20 ultra I'd consider this. Never tried a pixel and very embedded in the Samsung ecosystem

Don't miss that they take your trade in into account before they actually issue the credit, despite the fact that it says the full 90 at checkout.
That's not true. Your purchase transaction is eligible for the credit issued, and that's it. The trade in refund credit is completely separate.

It was this way for my two previous orders with trade ins when I got the Pixel 6a. The credit they say you'll get at checkout and on your original Google Store receipt is the exact same amount that was issued later.

They're just paying market value subsidized a little. These phones go through a third party processor and are resold. Why should the trade-in value of a cheaper phone be more than an expensive phone?
You left out that most of these 3rd parties resell them as prepaid and to countries overseas. I understand how the business model works.

I just think Google has had many issues showing loyal customers the same respect.

I was considering switching to an iPhone 13 or 14 from my Pixel 3 - which has had issues, but the trade-in value for such an old phone is the highest I've seen. Now I'm debating going with the Pixel 7 Pro, which may be buggy like the 6, or an iPhone.

Trade in for Pixel and get that enhanced credit if you don't like it then trade new pixel in for iPhone and get better trade in.

I just skimmed through the previous deal with the gift cards to check and it looks like that's exactly the case. Someone just mentioned that at least one of the trade in phone options is now gone but otherwise I'd say this is a better deal since there's no gift card. Others will have to chime in as to whether or not the total elevated trade in value this time around is the same as the previous TIV + gift card amount but I'm interested in trading in my S22 Ultra and it's $900 value right now (for the lowest, 128gb storage option) whereas someone in the previous thread said they were getting $700 for their 256gb model - so in that case the TIV value here is already higher.

I had the Best Buy trade in all set and literally just got an email confirming that my phone is ready but that was going to be $246 out of pocket and a $200 gift card. Even then if I wasn't happy with the P7 I'd be paying a restocking fee. So I think I'm all in for this, instead.
Maybe I got lucky: As of two days ago, I traded in an iPhone 13 256GB - valued at $650.00 + $200.00 GC. I'm getting the Pixel 7 Pro 256GB. Shipped today for delivery Monday or Tuesday.
