Belkin's first flat-design GaN Wall Charger offers next-level charging with a design that's 21% smaller* than stock 20W chargers. It brings high-speed USB-C Power Delivery charging for smartphones and tablets in a small and convenient size. Gallium nitride (GaN) is a high-performance alternative to the traditional silicon used in charging devices. GaN transistors produce less heat, allowing components to be closer together, which means you get a much smaller charger with all the power of a big one. For powering up at home or on the go, our GaN Wall Charger provides up to 20W of fast charging for USB-C PD-enabled devices. Fast charge an iPhone 8 or later from 0–50% in 30 minutes† or Google Pixel from 0–50% in 37 minutes.†† Built-in protection keeps your devices safe from overcurrent and overvoltage damage.

*Based on internal measurements when compared to stock 20W smartphone chargers.

† USB-C PD technology charges iPhone 8 or later from 0–50% in 30 minutes when paired with a USB-C cable with Lightning connector (not included).

†† Based on charge times for Google Pixel 3XL (37 minutes). Charge time varies with environmental factors; actual results will vary. Requires Power Delivery-enabled model.

Why is this so big for 20w? I got a Google pixel charger that outputs 30w for $20. Is that good? I don't think it's Gan but what benefit does Gan bring other than size and thermal footprint anyone?

I mean $13 for 20w charger sounds expensive in 2022.

Cool tech, but is it really worth it for a 20W charger? My 18W charger is not too much bigger than this...

That Pixel charger is very good as it supports Programmable Power Supply (PPS) which enables faster charging (up to around 22W) on phones like the Pixel 6 series and newer. This in addition to supporting power delivery modes up to 30W at up to 20V making it usable for many laptops/tablets. At the same time, the form factor is pretty traditional as a small-ish 6.805 cm x 4.3 cm x 2.7 cm brick with fixed prongs.

The Belkin adapter is intended to be a more compact travel charger targeted for phones. This means it adds folding power prongs and fits into a wall-hugging 7.7 cm x 3.26 cm x 1.5 cm case (presumably making it easy to slip in your pocket or a bag). As a third party charger, this device is also noteworthy in that it is listed with Intertek [intertekconnect.com] and USB-IF [usb.org]. However, the Belkin model also only supports 5V and 9V modes (meaning it is optimized for charging phones, and not necessarily laptops and/or tablets) and does not support PPS (meaning it may charge slower than possible despite the wattage rating depending upon the device.

The 30W Google power charger is a great all-around option for phones/tablets/laptops (though second, perhaps, to some comparable Samsung options) whereas the 20W Belkin charger is probably most ideal for a phone that only supports traditional power delivery and maxes out at around 20W support (such as an iPhone 13).

Considering that the retail price of the Google power charger is around $25 (so nearly twice the price of the Belkin in this listing) I'd say this isn't a steal for the Belkin but is still a decent value for money.

Good luck!
Jon

Here's a compact 30W charger for $8, it's been working well for my Pixel 6a.

Google gave out free $10 credit for Pixel owners previously. But you can also grab at sub 20 on eBay

The perspective can be a bit off since only the prongs suggest the actual size. See my prior post for exact dimensions, but this Belkin adapter is not much bigger than (and otherwise proportioned very much like) and old-school pack of sticks of gum. I've attached some pictures for reference, but they won't be visible on mobile.

Good luck!

In for 3. I have a few HomePod Minis around the house that I'd like to be able to put behind dressers and the adapter that comes with them is too long horizontally without bending the cable. Confirmed the HomePod Mini needs 9v 2.22A to operate fully so these should do the trick nicely!

65w GaN charger for under $30. Smallest I've ever seen.
Works with my Dell and HP laptops.
