If I don't have a number to port-in, what is the easiest & cheapest way to get a number to port in?
Probably get a Google voice number and port that over

Anybody done porting from GV to Mint before? From Mint's website I saw this:

*Important: Google Voice numbers are treated like landlines when you port them and take 5-7 days to complete.
That's odd because I just ported a GV number to Google Fi last week and it all went through within an hour or less. I'm not sure why it would take MINT a lot longer to port in the GV number.

I just got another GV number to port out to Mint this time.Smilie

If you don't have a number to port use a popular bidding site. Super easy and cheap

Fi uses the same backend as GV. Any Gmail account with Fi wasn't able to use GV in the past.

Yup that's the easiest and cheapest. You will just need to pay the $3 port out fee.

Just came back from Best Buy and did the trade in deal to get Pixel 7 for $126.14 (including tax) and got a $100 bestbuy gc. So final cost (assuming I use the gc) is $26.14 to upgrade my carrier locked old pixel 6 to unlocked pixel 7.
That's awesome. I'm going to do that as well and use that credit to get a pixel watch during black Friday

Just FYI the terms don't list the phone as eligible. Use PayPal to be safe

iPhone 14 isn't listed there as well, but I think it's because both Pixel 7 and iPhone 14 are still new phones so they haven't updated it in the terms.

Mint has awful data coverage in my part of coastal Florida. I think Tmo deprioritizes Mint users to such a degree that the service is useless. I would routinely get downgraded to the Edge+ network. That's not even 3G, much less LTE. Mint must be very stingy with how much Tmo bandwidth they are willing to contract for.

Also remember how Mint scammed Slickdealers last year with another Pixel deal. They offered the Pixel 2XL for about $100 but failed to state that the phones were all refurbs. A lot of people were led to believe they were unused phones based on the description.

These Google phones will likely be even cheaper within the next 6 months.

This deal is so perfect because my son's phone service with Mint Mobile ends at the end of the month. This will save me $90 (50%) off the yearly subscription AND I get the Pixel 7 Pro for around $499!!!

Now only if they allow split payment, would make this deal sweet like molasses

What happens if I purchase it without porting in a number? Would I only get 6 months instead of the full 12? Because currently I am not in the US and won't be back until beginning of December but this deal is so sweet that even if I don't use the data is still awesome price.

I just spotted this on the product page
Quote :
All of our full phone plans and See for Yourself Kits feature a 7-Day Money Back Guarantee for all purchases made on mintmobile.com or using the app. You can cancel your wireless phone plan service for any reason within 7 days of activation and we will refund you 100% of the purchase price, including any fees and taxes. Shipping is not refunded.
Since the phone's price is listed as $499, I wonder if this means we can just cancel the plan to get a refund on the plan, in which case we basically got P7 Pro for $499.

I talked to a rep via chat; he was adamant that the phone is sim locked for 12 months. Very conflicting information.
