The sim is registered under your name, are you sure you want to sell the sim to a random guy?

I haven't found details of this, where does it mention the SIM is registered to your name? I was under the impression it's just like any other SIM with a value stored on it, you could activate it online as-is.

Edit: Downvoted, but was confirmed I was right in a later comment; SIM is not tied to a person. You can sell or give it away, they sign up with their own account details at the time they do so.

Yup that's the easiest and cheapest. You will just need to pay the $3 port out fee.
I'm sorry, but I'm very new to this and am stuck with a Samsung S8 on Verizon and am desperate for a phone upgrade. Would you mind explaining this process, as it seems like the best solution I've found to obtaining this deal?

Answers to common questions:

1) The phone is UNLOCKED. (Mint only locks iPhones and specified Samsung devices)
2) You theoretically CAN sell the service, but you have a 45-day time crunch.
3) If you (or anyone) do not activate the service within 45 days it just expires, and you're out $90 (plus fees).
4) If you do not port a number you only get 6 months of service, not 12.
5) Check your Amex offers for a potential further $45 discount.

Just got my pixel 7 pro today. I immediately put in my Red Pocket (Verizon) sim card in it and it worked, so it looks like these are unlocked! I think we were expecting this to be the case, but I'm glad it is. Hope this helps people who are on the fence if mint gets more stock with this deal.
Thank you for confirming! This is what we all should have expected as it says in the listing itself the phone is unlocked, reps have said Android phones come unlocked, and the terms at the bottom of the deals page says only iPhones are locked lol.

No Amex offer on any of my 6 Amex cards. Strange.

#2 is incorrect. Its a prepaid service, you can give it to anyone as they will register using their details on the app. Its not really tied to you in anyway. If the other person does not activates in 45 days, it'll expire worthless.

Appreciate you putting this summary together. Just wondering how you would get around the port in requirement they have listed?

Thanks for the correction. Can the buyer port-in and receive extra 6 months?

Yes I dont see why not, as long as they activate within 45 days and port in their number.

So those that have ordered and received have all confirmed it's unlocked, not just a few?

So essentially, get the free number from Google Voice. Port that in, and then port out to Verizon (my current carrier)?

Again, thanks for the help. I'm very green on this subject!

anyone who received this and completed the port-in process, can you detail the process? I am wondering if at any step it needs any info tied to the order (to enable the extra 6 months) or if the sim itself is somehow preprogrammed for that? do i need to create a mint account before starting the activation? does the port-in have to be done during the activation or is there a grace period afterwards?

Does anyone know how family / group plan work if I want to order 2 of these and do 2 BYOD? Do I make 2 separate orders then combine it?

I guess the question is : what if the new buyer of the sim card does not activate and port in a new number within 45 days, will mint mobile charge $400 to the original buyer of the pixel 7 pro phone using the credit card on the file? just asking since Mint mobile gives $400 off but says port in a new number required.
