Vega 8 graphics maybe. That's really slow for a 2400p screen.

No it is not and that is a misconception that integrated Graphics can't drive 4K screen properly when it is just general task. For gaming, even the most powerful Laptop GPU will have trouble to handle it at 4K. However, for general task, even the today's basic integrated Graphics card can drive a 4K display pretty easily and those kind of laptops are available for years now.
I am using my ThinkPad T14 with a 4K screen and Ryzen 7 5850U for over an years now and there is no issue. Before that, I have used an older HP Envy 13 Clamshell laptop with 4K display and Core i7-1065G7 without any issue.
If you want a laptop for media consumption and running CPU intensive works like Code compilation, CPU based video encoding, demanding office works like processing huge dataset in Excel or other apps, this laptop is actually one of the best option out there.

$900 for a laptop that can barely play Roblox at native res. He asked why the deal wasn't popular, that could be why. If it had a 3050 it would probably get more thumbs up.

I don't think a Zenbook is built for gaming. There's also a TUF on sale right now that would work better for gaming. For an all purpose, high resolution workstation, I can see where people would be attracted to this at this price point.

That said, the Vivobook sale from Newegg last week was a better deal IMO.

Out of curiosity, how badly does the scaler degrade image quality if the user switches away from the native resolution over to 1920x1200 (something less demanding)?
