In the case of this series of Korg synths, they're just the software running on a Pi Compute Module inside a custom controller, so you could buy the software for $200 to run on your PC and get exactly the same sound. https://korg.shop/wavestate-nativ...re=english

Yeah, after the $330 deal on the OpSix, was hoping for a similar price here on the wave state

Still a decent discount though, especially for someone already in the market for one

I'm seeing used ones listed at $500-$650 on CL near me so from a resale / depreciation standpoint this is not bad.

I'm waiting on my Prologue 16 to be delivered tomorrow (hopefully), this looks very cool, but I'm wondering since it's digital will software digital synths sound just as good? At this price, I am really tempted to grab it!

XD production costs are much higher than the current round of Korg digital synths. I doubt we'll See the XD this low anytime soon.
