If you're going to spend this much on a scooter, I'd argue most people should at least upgrade to a Vsett 8 for $849 instead. It's a way better scooter (with dual suspension and 25+ mph) for $100 more.

I have this scooter and it's fantastic. Probably the best scooter you can get for under $1000 and before getting into the next tier of much larger scooters with full suspension.

40 mile range is definitely under best-case scenarios meaning smaller rider, flat roads, and riding in Eco Mode which is fairly slow.

I'd say 25 is more realistic for larger riders and faster riding.

For a two-year-old product. MEH... Segway is coming out with new scooters.

This goes on sale to 750 fairly often.

The cheapest it was ever sold was 550 in 2020.

I would wait.

Wellbot is a horrible company.! I think it may be one person in a basement ordering through China. You get Zero response from this company, They will not return calls, e-mails, or chats !!!!
I have 2 bikes I ordered, both broken from the start, they will not either respond or file any warranty claim !!~!
I have now had to call the credit card Co., and challenge the charges. PS: takes forever to ship the bikes, and NO updates ever ! Also uses FedEx to save $2 , and they are also the worst!
