Holy shit have they jacked the farking prices. I painted a bunch two years ago with the Emerald line. With 40% off, it was closer to $35 a gallon at the time. Now it's $51-$55. Only a farking 40%+ increase. I wish these farking companies could get bent.

Easiest (non ethical) way to get it back to those prices is to use the phone number of a painting or drywall company in your area to get their discount when they ask for one at purchase.

Paint prices have increased dramatically in last 18 months due to the increase in oil price. It is especially true for paints with high solid content.
I am no fan of Sherwin Williams paint. In most category, Consumer Report rates Behr as a superior paint.
I am going to supply glossy metal paint to my contractor next week to paint a huge pylon sign. Yesterday, I visited Home Depot, Lowe's and Sherwin Williams, and concluded that Behr's oil-based exterior paint had higher solid content, and was priced significantly lower than a similar one by Sherwin Williams.
