Some of this information has been presented in other threads, but I thought it would be useful to consolidate them in one place for those considering different models. From lowest to highest price:
Note that while this is the best domestic price I am currently seeing on the 1030 Plus, r2-bike in Germany is selling it for 332 Euro[r2-bike.com]. At the current EUR/USD exchange rate and counting shipping that works out to $375 shipped to the USA if you want to go that route.
If anybody finds better deals on these please update this thread.
I'm not in the market for this, but I appreciate the effort that you put into this post.
Tell me you're a cycling noob without telling me you're a noob.
Bought the 530 refurb on the last deal and I'm a big fan. It records my routes with more accuracy than my iphone, and it automatically syncs to strava and in turn trailforks. All i have to do is press a button and bam it's recording. Reduces the battery drain on my phone. After using it a couple times i can safely say i feel no need to have a touch screen. However that might be a different scenario if i was road biking in unfamiliar territory. This thing definitely does the job though.

I bought the 530 when it came out and its been amazing since then. Also note for Garmin, you can get discounts on their products through work place rewards or your health insurance
Anyone have experience with refurbished units from GPS City? The 1030 at that price is very tempting.
Not exactly the same but I bought the 530 refurb from gps city in a previous deal and could not be happier. Unit looked practically brand new and operates without any flaws.

I know the 530 sync to Strava, but how does it syncs to Trailforks?
My 530 works great but boy do I find the buttons confusion! I had the model below and never had this issue but for some reason find it hard to get back to the main "map" display and always end up hitting lap or something else.

You can install additional apps to your device such as trailforks and Komoot via the ConnectIQ app
The 530 also has a Trailforks app to view trails maps on the unit.
