fairly easy to put together, but as people stated in the previous thread, you should really use LockTite on the bolts to prevent them from coming loose over time.
You do not need a box spring, as this is a Foundation-style frame which includes horizontal wooden slats to support your mattress. It's rated for up to 700 pounds, but if you're on the heavier side you might want to keep the box spring on just to reduce wear on the slats - I'm ~205 and I can feel them bend a little.

The frame only recently started creaking getting in and out of bed, so I suspect I have some loose bolts as well. Locktite is a great suggestion.
The slats are definitely not great. I'm 215 and I could feel the mattress sag on the sides but have great support in the middle (where the frame runs through). I ended up adding a 3/4" plywood over the slats to give the mattress and myself better support.
Otherwise though, frame has done its job well and eventually I'll get a better frame or bedroom set.
I originally bought this bed frame to use temporarily until I found another I liked better, but so far it's just easier to keep this one! I confirm no box spring is needed with this frame.
