Just called 800-436-7970 (the us number on the cards back), mentioned I was approved with $60k bonus points and the new 80k points promotion to the costumer representative. She took a couple minutes to research and came back stated that she's gonna note my account and I will be qualified (after $4k spending). No further action is needed.
Will post update if any.
I was also approved for the 60k bonus points and told that I would get the 80k bonus points. I got denied by their marketing team for the 80k bonus today unfortunately. Did you get the 80k yet?
The marketing team is responsible for the bonus points promotion and the reps just creates a ticket for you to send it to the marketing team. I was told the same thing and eventually got denied today. I also spoke with a supervisor and they couldn't do anything to get the 80k bonus promotion added to my account.
There is fine print around most recent sapphire product as well as no bonuses in the last 48 months, but the short answer is yes, you'd need to close/downgrade. Beyond that, you may or may not be eligible for the bonus.
Spoke with Chase a year or so ago and was told about this 48 month rule for either Sapphire products. Essentially, no bonus if you have gotten it within the last 48 months...
currently in dilemma here..... Ive got CSP, Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Credit Card that gives me annual Companion Certificate. I fly delta alot. should I downgrade csp and delta plat card and get this one? I have not been able to take adv of either cards, the rewards suck
Plat AF is higher ($695) but the benefits you get more than makes up for the fee, if you can work within the restrictions (airline fee only applies to one airline, hotel credit only works if you book FHR/THC, etc). Plus Amex's customer service for these cards are amazing.
Chase's $300 travel credit is easy to redeem but that's not enough to cover the annual fee. They are easier to use abroad though (visa is more accepted than Amex).

Chase includes other credits that can more than make up the annual fee though (as does Amex)- just depends how many of the relevant services you use for each to make it worth it or not.
Wonder if it will get to 100k ot 120k again.
Either way, i did aign up for 120k back in the day and closed the card at the end of the year before the new annual fee kicked in. Question, how ling do we have to wait to get in on another UR point deal, say this one?
Are there any issues if I cancel after 1 year? W.r.to credit score?

If you click on the deal link to go to the Chase website, you should find this message just below the Apply button:
"This product is available to you if you do not have any Sapphire card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for any Sapphire card in the past 48 months."
The language is straight from Chase's website, so I don't think there's much doubt about it. In other words, I wouldn't bother trying to apply for either Sapphire card if I'm fully aware that I've received a bonus within the past 48 months.
Same boat except got approved 2 weeks ago. Called customer service and they said anyone who got the CSR after 9/15/22 was eligible for the bump. Rep notated it in my account. I don't see any changes in my portal yet though.
No, you would not get the sign up bonus if you product changed an existing CSP to a CSR.
Yes, so the advantage of product-changing is that often the CSP has a higher SUB than the CSR. So you'd get the CSP first, earn its SUB, then wait at least a year since account opening, then call to product-change to CSR.

I think the cash value is still 1 point = 1 cent
