Dentist here. The staining is very mild usually. The reason for staining is that the antibacterial ingredient sticks around long after you spit out the mouth wash. Chlorhexidine usually stays active for 7 hours. Cetylpyridinium Chloride roughly 5hrs

All things considered, I'd recommend this over a an alcohol based mouthwash even considering the minor staining.

Great deal BTW!!

My hygienist told me to stop using this because it was staining my teeth. Cetylpyridinium chloride is the culprit. Doesn't seem to happen to everyone, though.

Yes!! I had 2 separate dentists tell me the same thing. They said the total care and enamel care type ones help prevent cavities and enamel damage but it stains/darkens your teeth

After speaking with Amazon Support, I can confirm this is the enamel care mouthwash. Seemed to have been a listing issue. Thank you for pointing that out!

This 4-pk, even without the S&S discount, is cheaper than Walmart's prices. Save on average 30% compared to Walmart w/ the S&S discount.

In other words, it's the same stuff as everything else.

Yeah, when I saw that comment I researched it. Seems to be "surface stains" that are easily removed anytime you get a dental cleaning. Also, this ingredient seems to be in all the non-alcohol mouth washes that I checked.

The last mouthwash I bought through a deal on this site was a few years ago, when I bought a few bottles from a Walgreens deal when they were selling them for next to nothing.

Those bottles lasted me for years, but it's time to stock up again and this deal seems to fit the bill nicely. These 4 bottles will probably last me for a very long time too.

In for a pack!

What's the downside of alcohol based mouthwash?

Almost bought it before realized 16.9 oz is the smaller bottle compare to the Costco one (33.8 oz) that was 3 for 9.99 I think.

In the listing:

Because Crest Pro-Health Rinse does not contain alcohol, it is ideal for the millions of people who may want to avoid alcohol-based products (children — or households with children; elderly; diabetics; pregnant women; anyone taking certain prescription medication, e.g. blood pressure, cholesterol, antidepressants, etc.; people with religious considerations; cancer patients; recovering alcoholics; etc.), but who want to enjoy the health benefits of rinse.
