With many blade steels it's also important who produced it and how it's been treated — Benchmade consistently excels there too. The CPM-20CV in this offers great edge retention and corrosion resistance for the money, while being a bit less tough and harder to sharpen than, e.g., S35VN. As for the handles/scales, I'm not 100% sure what exactly these are, but when you buy Benchmade you can trust it's going to be more than half decent. You can upgrade them later if you want anyway.

Change the laws that require seized weapons to be destroyed would be the only practical approach if you feel so deeply about it.
Hcs_klowns comment was accurate. There was zero disinformation.
I'd say not supporting a company who's politics you disagree with is a very practical way of dealing with it.
Let me give you an example at how a rational person should respond to that nonsense:
Kid- I want this "popular crap" that everyone has so I can be cool, be like everyone else that's stupid.
Parent- stfu up with that nonsense!! I'm not wasting my money on that crap!!!
The end
Like honestly, holy crap the level of self-importance with the statement that people who like expensive [X] are stupid is just mind-boggling.

EDIT: Regardless of opinion, this thread is approved and a good deal to others. Thanks for posting op! Unfortunately, it's a little long for the state I live in
EDIT2: Use promo code TOPPARERBK in cart to receive a free Top Cutlery German Paring Knife 3.25" Stainless Micro Serrated Blade, Black Handle on your next order. Free on orders over $95.
EDIT3: And if you do order this, make sure you ask for a perfectly centered knife in the order comments. When you receive it, just double check and see if the knife is in the center when closed/folded. Some of the older benchmade knives have centering issues where the blade is not in the center. While they honor warranty and will fix it for you, you don't really want to send a new knife for warranty on day 1. Since this is on sale, I assume it's an older stock that never got sold if that make sense.
Every time something more expensive than another thing gets posted, there's a barrage of posts as to why someone would be so stupid to buy this over that.
I wish more premium stuff would get posted on SD. If someone has paid all their bill, fed their kids, contributed to their retirement, and has some expendable income to spend on something nice that brings them joy, let them do it. More power to them.
I have a $300 carbon fiber bugout. Not the most expensive knife by any means. I also have a $20 Kershaw. If I hand them both to several different people, some might pick out why the bugout is more expensive and appreciate it, some might not. That's all there is to it. We all value different things. If you don't find value in something, it doesn't mean everyone else shouldn't either.

I think any place is a good place to learn if the subject arises. Hell yes! Why not pick someone's brain about something you don't know about? Short answer. yes. Any place is good, especially if it's on the existing subject, it's a no-brainer in my opinion.

I paid $12.45 + tax and got a $1 digital credit for choosing no-rush shipping. Seemed like a pretty good deal, but again I'm no knife expert.
